WaheguruJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJiKiFateh! Quebec's Sikhs need your help! Bill 21 bans all public sector employees like teachers, police, and lawyers from wearing any religious symbols. This means that Sikhs can not work while wearing their Dastar, Kara, or Kirpan. I can understand someone making a choice to not eat dairy for any reason. But this is laughable. It has been said before on this forum that even other foods like lentils and beans and other crops like grains come from places that treat the humans that work the farms with cruelty. This should be fixed, and if someone feels that not consuming something will help, there's nothing wrong with some decby SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Dr. Trilochan Singh translated Jail Chithhian into English. But I haven't been able to find too much information about him online, specifically about how he knew Bhai Randhir Singh. Can anyone give any information about him? Did someone like Giani Nahar Singh tell him to translate Bhai sahib's book? How close was he to Bhai Sahib?by SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I would like to write some thoughts about this topic. Please forgive any shortcomings in my thinking. I think that science and Sikhi are two separate things. To compare them is unfair; it’s like apples and oranges. Sikhi is absolutely true. Everything written in Gurbani is absolutely true. However, we don’t know all of the details about every claim that Gurbani makes. We know it is true buby SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I would like to start off by saying that I can't pretend to completely understand what it is like to be insecure about my looks. I haven't had to face this in my life but I know that this can be a tough challenge for others. I know that your reasons for wanting to use makeup aren't really that bad, but please consider some things before making a decision. I used to recite Anand Sahib in my mind. I also noticed this same problem. I had to put too much effort into keeping my place in the bani to complete it correctly. This extra effort used to frustrate me so I eventually just gave up on it. It is probably because my surti is not strong enough to do this kind of stuff. So instead of that, I just go through random shabads that I have memorized orby SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
We do not need to conform to any societal standards and expectations at all, whether they are modern or not. We need to use Gurmat to decide what to do. It is not a good thing to confine someone to a certain set of expectations simply because "that's how things have always been". What matters is that society functions well. In order to do that, all of the responsibilities need to be fulfilled.by SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Your question was fine. I think what happens is that everyone just thinks that someone else will answer it and then no one really does. I think your main question was about sukhasan asthaan. If you only have one room, I have seen that in many houses sukhasan is done in the same room but a small bed is kept for that.by SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Missionaries are using social media to make the whole panth go against Damdami Taksal. They are taking advantage of this attack to needlessly stoke the fire and although there are people in all groups that do this, to me it seems like this behaviour is especially prevalent in missionaries. Yet they still hypocritically accuse other jathebandis of dividing the panth when the reality is that everyoby SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I think Bhai Randhir Singh has clarified this very well in his books. He gives his reasoning for why he thinks so as well.

What maheep ji said is basicly how simple it is. I think the biggest weapon a Sikh has is Ardas. I know that I used to underestimate the power of ardas before I took fighting vikaars seriously. Remember that if you are fighting vikaars, you are doing so because Guru Jee is making you do it. So the best thing to do is ardas. Overall, just make Sikhi a very high priority in your life. I apologize for overreacting about this poster. I stand by what I've said about supporting Dasam Bani but I should not have hastily put the poster here. I don't know who to ask for confirming the poster so I didn't ask. That would have been the better course of action. Thank you to the guy that did what I should have done to find out more about this.by SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum
This is pathetic. Anyone who thinks they can speak against Dasam Granth Sahib while claiming to represent akj is a fool of lowest intellect. For those who claim to be a part of the jatha and still do parchar against Dasam Granth Sahib, I've found a few links that prove that no one in akj should be against Dasam Granth Sahib. It took me a few minutes to find this much and there is more thaby SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum

It would be good for some people to see this and try to bring these qualities back because the majority of the jatha is not like this anymore. Shortcomings are understandable but too many people are not even trying. Some even speak against gurmat and rehat yet they want to call themselves members of jatha. The physical rehats aren't just outside things irrelevant to the inside. They help in the inside. Bana, kakars, and bibek are absolutely necessary to be successful with inside simran. If we do not try to follow Guru Jee's hukam to wear bana, kakars and keep bibek, then how can we expect Guru jee to give us as much help for inner simran as we would get if we we were following all of these hukams?by SinghAbb - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Is there a full video, because this one didn't show it all. Maybe a transcript of what he said or something would be useful. Anyways, I think he said that phones shouldn't be used for kirtan. That is almost exactly my problem, especially with the hair because it's very long. Shampoo days can take longer too. I don't use a dryer, I just use a towel to take some water out. Then while I'm doing paath, I separate my hair with my fingers before sitting down. This makes it way easier to comb after it dries.
