There are various levels at which on has to work. If one is too distracted/confused/agitated/depressed then one cannot concentrate on naam and baani. Some gentle and soothing physical exercise helps a lot in this situation. I find simple movement to individually warm up all the body parts as most helpful to release negative agitation on the mind and calm it. - Start by gently rotating the wrisby eyesacademic - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I have a couple of thoughts going in my mind since past few days about methodology of countering such parchars. One is that we have to be modern. YouTube videos of high professional quality like Bhai Jagraj Singh makes (Basics of Sikhi channel on youtube). The material has to be bite sized. Small nuggets sharp and to the point. Almost like modern day advertisement. But just making these videos isby eyesacademic - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I am much far away from what a gursikh rehat should be but at least I know a little of what (albeit only intellectually) what gurmat is. And when i see such videos i get so upset and angry and worked up that i loose sleep and feel like picking up an argument with such people right there and then. And now it has been 2 weeks since i saw this guy and my mind has still not returned to its normal staby eyesacademic - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I am surprised at how the followers of Dhunda and company are growing in numbers especially amongst youngsters here in Canada and US. Can something be done about this? If there were more pracharaks like Bhai Jagraj Singh from England this anti gurmat ideas could be countered easily. It could be that just as Waheguru on one hand created many flowers, birds, shades of colours and so many other things which are very different from each other and on other there many which are very similar to each other, so He did in Gurbani. We can take these similar shabads to be like flowers of the similar kind.It could be there is no reason behind these similarities, its just Guru's Mauj.by eyesacademic - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There is no special diet. Just common sense. It should be vegetarian. Other than this the diet would depend upon the prakirti of the person's mind and body. Anything which digests well and does not produce acidity, gas, bloating, sleepiness is okay. Anything which produces heaviness and constipation should also be avoided. Food should be eaten not for pleasure but for proper health and living.by eyesacademic - Gurmat Discussion Forum

In principle deriving great pleasure (beyond a certain worldly limit) out of sports is anti gurmat. For a Gursikh there should just one predominant thought in his mind, that of Naam/Parmatma/Guru/Gurbani/Maut/Lekha. When someone derives great pleasure like this one is strengthening the illusion, the maya and Naam is lessening. I have been following this Singh's parchar on youtube channel 'Basics of Sikhi' right from the beginning about 2 years ago and what he is doing is simply amazing. It is exactly the need of the hour, just what the doctor prescribed. Importance of Gurbani Grammar is obvious and need not be stated again and again. But occasionally questions comes to my mind: - Was Gurbani Grammar ever taught in Guru ji's times, in any form? Is there any reference/ ਸੰਕੇਤ about this anywhere? - If it was taught, then there should be some granth on the subject existing somewhere. Why is there not a single granth found on this subjeby eyesacademic - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I agree with Kulbir Singh ji. - Vaheguru created everything, this universe, seen, unseen, the materials, the life forms, the rules of physical world, the rules of ethereal worlds, EVERYTHING. - What we humans do is that we gradually 'discover' these rules and use it to our benefit. -same is the case with our mind. The basic difference between Gurmat and others is that Gurmat is not just any framework within which one works one's mukti. It is a framework for deliverance of a particular divine substance , one which is peerless and incomparable. This is Satnaam.
