Visiting takhts and Sarbloh ???

i have heard from many that
when we visit a takht for the forst tim ethere is a custom of buying a sarbloh item from that place.

i cant exactly remmeber though can anyone shed some light

There is no Gurmat requirement to buy a Sarbloh item from Takhat Sahib, when visiting it the first time. All that is required is love for Guru Sahib.

There is a tradition of buying a utensil from Kiratpur Sahib after remains of a prani have been immersed there. But I thought of it as more of a folk tradition.
