It should be noted that the draft of the rehat maryada never translated kuttha to halal. All it said was kutha should not be eaten. Footnote in the Sikh rehat maryada that expands on the meaning on Kuttha as Halal is a recent addition which is a dubious step by SGPC to sneak in alterations without consulting the panth.by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Daas has been thinking about this very important topic over last few days. Ever since I remember, daas due to family was associated with the Akhand Kirtani Jatha. It was natural as our parents use to go to jatha samagams. However gurbani does not expects us to be part of a jatha. It wants us to be a gursikh. I find it difficult to digest that whenever I meet any non jatha singhs they willby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I remember being admitted to a hospital few years ago here in west. Doctor came to see me and asked what I eat. I gave him idea of my diet and said vegetarian diet with lentis, veg and chapatis.. I replied its not a week but in one day and his mouth was left open >< In India diet of families is like 2 oily paraanthe in mornng, foby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Thank you KS and MB Singh Ji Your responses make sense. Sikhi can not fail and sorry I didn't want to ridicule or diminish the importance of rehat. I agree that there are rehatvaan gursikhs in all jathebandis and they all are better then dass.. My concern is that the spiritual progress of the majority of gursikhs has not reached a stage where they can break this caste/jathebandi barrier. heby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Its unfortunate this thread turned into Jatha vs Taksal issue. If we can't get beyond this mentality forget about getting above casteism... There may be and no doubt are rehatvaan sikhs in all jathas but majority of them are engulfed in caste pride. I would suggest to close this topic here as I don't think I will ever get answer to this question.. Only guru sahib can do kirpa and bring us allby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Is there a solution? Why don't the gursikhs set example in this case. Bhai Randhir Singh set an example when he challenged the social circle and took amrit with a muslim. Unfortunately even those who speak against this evil have their surname attached in the end as if there is no world without this surname..by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
You are right Vivek ji about the question... But facebook is just a medium.. Actions of gursikhs should represent irrespective of the medium. Imagine same thing in a public place or a train... Facebook is one tool. Lot of gursikhs are using it to spread message of sikhism, Khalsa nation and lot of relief work for the needy... Daas is writing this post with a big question which has come up in my mind recently. Please do not think that I am questioing Guru sahib or the power of bani or naam... but the practicle life examples are difficult to answer. When I got married... we were unable to find any keski wearing singhni for one reason that we were considered 'low caste'... The same happened with my sister.. Now my youby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
These days a new trend is becoming very prevalent among bana wearings sikhs.. Lot of people post their wedding and engagement photos on facebook posing like some hindi movie couples. Celebrating happy times in ones life is fine but how relevant is this trend in line with gurmat?by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteRattan singh Bhanghu was not an ordinary person. He was grandson of Bhai mehtab singh who had beheaded Massa Ranghar inside Harmandir sahib. He had first hand knowledge of many incidents relating to Baba Banda singh bahadar. Being from the lineage of a great shaheed does not makes someone extra ordinary. I remember when I was very young while lying on bed I used to stay awake for long. My grand mother used to check why I am not sleeping and I always replied "Neend nahin aaundi (I don't feel like sleeping)". Her reply used to be standard.. One question was raised by someone at work recently. Dass tried to discuss this in context of Gurmat Karam Philosophy but would appreciate views of forum members. - If we only get one human life to realize god and we have no idea about Sikhism how can we be held accountable for the things which are not as per Sikhism. - I drink and cut my hair because there is no such restrition in my religby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks you for replying. I visited one of the so called 'best' pools in our neighbourhood and after seeing it I don't think I can go swimming in these public pools. Not a pleasant site with all the people around you.by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Daas has been advised by an orthopaedic surgeon to start swimming to reduce weight and tone up back muscles. As he has identified some specific spinal injury issue I have been advised againt any other form of exercise including walking. Daas would like to get views of gursikhs on the forum about how can we ensure rehat while taking swimming lessons.by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There is a lot more then what this hukamnama talks about. They have tweaked there 'Ways' to get around the problem of gurmantar vidhi to satisfy the Akal Takht Jathedaars but overall brainwashing and manipuluating individuals is still in progress and working as sweet poison. The impact may not be showing now but it will turn out to be a big damage to the young generation over next few years. Iby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Daas posted about this few weeks ago but post wasn't displayed. Its possible that the forum policy does not allows naming someone so I will keep some details out this time. This is a norm in most of the "Sikh" weddings and birthday parties. Old people dancing with family women half their age, wearing clothes which can hardly cover and shamelessly engaging in vulgar dances on bollywood and english songs. One other proof that Kaljug is expanding faster and has been making its way inside the house of Guru Nanak as well. Daas met a chardhi kala gursikhs few months back and the discussion around Amrit vela difficulty getting up etc came up. He gave a very interesting view point on this.
