I have not said that the Indian mentality is better. All I am saying is that western is not good either. Its just a bharam. One is giving you poison directly and other one is saying that there is no poison but inside there is poison.. I have lived in both these cultures and have found that western society is very biased as well.by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Although this reports looks ok about India and other similar countries, I would strongly disagree with the opinion of UK/US being tolerant countries. There is a lot of hidden racism in western countries. When surveyed a person living in western countries is more likely to say 'I am not racist' to look nice but inside you can expect more intolerance. People in India etc are more open about exprby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Recently on Sikh Channel UK an advertisement about some kirtan darbar mentioned the event location as "Gurdwara Sikh Temple" Gurdwara and Temple used in same name... If a jigyasu, gets the daat of amrit. Maintains amrit vela, bibek ahaar and rehat and does not commits any bajjar kurehat after getting amrit, but does not gets to reach the ultimate stage of getting Adrisht Vaheguru De Partakh Darshan before leaving this world. Will that jigyasu have to again be re-born to complete the journey to merge in Vaheguru?by akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

This incident very clearly shows you reap what you sow. Indian mentality has been very much focussed on commiting such crimes against the minorities. 1984 and after we saw so many Sikh bibis going through similar and in many cases worse crimes. In Gujarat the same things happened. Even pregnant women were not spared. Their bellies slit with knives and unborn kids take out and killed. Now thby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Recently daas saw the direct impact of the missionary parcharaks.. There is a young 28 year old singh who had been for nearly 6 months getting ready to become guru vala and get amrit di daat. He was so much forceful about this that he kept on pressurising us to somehow organise the amrit sanchar as soon as possible. In mean time few other abhilakhis also got ready. Daas remembers in mid 80's a lot of people used to mock the waheguru waheguru style kirtan and used to stay that it can't compare with the classical kirtan that professional ragis do. Then the trend started changing. The Atam Ras/Rang kirtan darbars started by professional ragis started doing dhuni of simran... Slowly and slowly another trend started emerging. Daas read a book in young age and can't remember the exact title but it was something like Bhagtaan Da Jeevan. This book was written in story telling style using gurbani parmaans and also included the references for each story to Varan Bhai Gurdas Ji. These days what you eat, what you wear and what you sleep on... no one knows what is ethical or not. So much commercialisation has happened. How can we be sure that the skin or ivory used to make these items is not from animals that died naturally. We can get into too much of don't this, don't do that but the borderline is that we can't really be sure of anything being ethical or unethical. Bestby akaal74 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

1. How do singhs handle the situation if they have parkash of Guru sahib at home and go out to attend ren sabai kirtan samagam. Generally you may not reach home before 7-8 AM due to distance. 2. Recently daas was having a conversation with a relative about the concept of Bibek. She was talking from the angle of equating this to Brahmanism. We had a very good discussion and in the end she agreed that the concept of Bibek was a gurmat asool and nowhere similar to the Brahmin’s concept of sucham.
