I agree, it is very shameful that Siropa can be bought now with money. Any politician gets Siropa without even looking at their Jeevan. Siropa should only be given to Gursikhs for their Seva. Guru Sahib Sumat Bakhshan!by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
This is nothing new for the India Media. It's very shameful, but we have become almost numbed to it because it happens so often. We are nipunsak and are no longer able to stop things like this from happening. We have become compliant. If we look at the Muslim community and how much Ros is Pargat when someone hurts their religious sentiments, we have fallen very behind in being able to takby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
But even the spelling Gurdwara is not Shud english way to spell ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਾ, it should be Gurdvara. It seams very odd to say Gurdvara, even when I read the spelling Gurdwara, I read it as Gurduara because of the w sound. Pata ni. Agreed with Bhai Jasjit Singh. It is a totally different thing to make Degh just for small amounts than to make Degh for big Smagam. When making large amounts of Degh there is very big danger of burning skin due to splashing. It is not possible to learn how to do Degh Seva without doing Seva under the supervision of learned Gursikhs. The most you can do is learn the theory, but until yoby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Sukhdeep Singh jeeo, It is very saddening that you are also starting to adhere to the Kala Afghana thinking that Guru Sahib does not do Bhog to Degh. You are making an issue out of this for no reason. There are so many points that you are raising that could be different threads, but for the sake of this discussion I will try to cover all of them. QuotePreetam Singh Jeeo,. why are youby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Sukhdeep Singh jeeo, I am not sure how you came to think this is a new age Maryada, but this has been happening since Guru Sahib's time. The Degh that is taken out for Panj Pyare is actually partaken of by the original Panj Pyare in Sachkhand, the same way Guru Sahib partakes of Degh when Bhog is done with Kirpan. Therefore the Gursikhs who are given the first 5 Guphay of Degh are not gettinby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

p21singh jeeo, The reason we should strive towards wearing Bana even if we are not fully Gurmukh Avastha is because we should strive to follow all of Guru Sahib's Hukams be inner Hukam or outer Hukam. We should strive to be of fully Gurmukh Avastha, and wearing Bana will help in our progress towards being fully Gurmukh. You cannot take Amrit without first wearing Bana. You will not be allby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
p21singh jeeo, I don't think it can ever be a bad thing to wear Bana. Even if someone doesn't have the Jeevan of a Gursikh, if they wear Bana there is more chance of them coming to the right path than just giving up a Rehit due to not following another Rehit. This being said, I do think that it is very shameful for someone wearing Bana to do non Gurmat activities, but I think we should telby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhagatjot Singh jeeo, My point in term of sitting after with Gursikhs was based on my personal experience and what we have seen in Sangat here. After Keertan Gursikhs usually sit and do Gurmat Vichaar, so I feel this is something that we should take advantage of. If staying after Keertan means talking about non Gurmat things then it is better to leave. Recently at Bay Area Smagam Bhai Saby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
An incident occurred yesterday which got me thinking about the importance of showing respect to Sangat and how to do this. We have been lucky to have Sangat of Gursikhs who have unintentionally taught us how to show our respect and the etiquette that is required when being a part of Sangat. Here are some of the things that come to mind. 1. Saying Fateh to Sangat after Matha Tek This oneby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I recently came across this youtube video where a Hare Krishna monk shows how to make jaag at home without using jaag from anyone else. This is very good for Bibeki Gursikhs who do not live near other Gursikhs and do not have jaag for dehi. I haven't tried it myself, but would love to hear if anyone tries it how their end product turns out. Here is the video:by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Bhai Jasjit Singh jee has given very good reasons for doing Siri Asa kee Vaar with the shants. It is still Lahayband to do paath of Siri Asa kee Vaar without Shants as well, but this is a Puratan Maryada of doing Paath and Keertan of Siri Asa kee Vaar in this way which has come seena baseena from Gursikhs.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

First thing that must be understood and accepted before talking about the application of Naam Avkhad to different scenarios is that Guru Sahib has made it clear that Naam and Gurbani cures all diseases be that of the body or mind. We must blindly accept this truth from Gurbani. QuoteA penny which is offered discreetly with humility in Sri Guru jis darbar is worth more then a million dollars offered with show. Sukhdeep Singh jeeo, This is very true. For a Gursikh who only earns 10 cents, the penny that they give back to Guru Sahib as Daswand is worth more than millions because it is so much harder for them to fulfill the Hukam of giving Daswand.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Now a days it is a common thing to see Keertanis wanting to do Keertan during "Primetime" and Sangat also only coming during "Primetime" to listen to Keertan and then leaving. It seems that there are two different Primetimes during Rainsabaee Keertans. First Primetime This is usually from 11 pm to 1 am and is when the peak of Sangat is there, and most famous Keertanis are usually doing Keerby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Continued from previous post: During these years I seldom missed his Kirtan Samagams, but he never ever asked me how I was doing in my exams. After repeated failures in these exams, my future was indeed bleak. It is very inspiring that you have been inspired to take Amrit and have started to do Jaap of Mool Mantar during Amritvela.
