WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! Does anyone know about Principal Nihal Singh Ras? I like reading his books and have couple of questions on the sources and want to ask whether I can write some stories based on some of his works. I don't find anything online...by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I can understand it from their perspective but from Sikhi perspective there could be multiple truths without dubidha as the level of truth can be based on the distance one could see. E.g. Christianity & Islam mostly believes Heaven & Hell as the end goal... it could be truth as Karma can give you heaven and hell without any sprituality. However if we look beyond them to all the other khands and eby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
The book is almost ready with just the cover picture left. I have created a webpage to try it before getting the original copy published. Checkout the book at www.sikhstorybooks.com and let me know if there are any major updates I shall consider before getting the book published.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
This is the first time I have heard not taking proper care as Kurheit. Either you are confusing both terms or I am missing something. I know it is still Kes Beadbi and one can be called Tankhaia but it is way different than the 4 Bajjar Kurheits. If one isn't taking proper care of kes, he isn't allowed 5 pyaare seva but as far as I know if one starts to take proper care, then they are still aby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
No veerji, after the Kurheit one can never be exactly same as before even after punishment from 5 pyaare. That is the reason why a person with a kurheit can't do seva in 5 pyaare. However I am not sure whether it is the same if the Kurheit is intentional or unintentional. I think the above only holds true for intentional Kurheits though but sangat can guide more.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Someone asked me yesterday about the significance of Kamarkassa and my knowledge in this aspect was pretty limited so I thought of asking help from others. I learned significance of Hazooria couple of years back and try to have one all the time I go in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji but please share the significance of Kamarkassa so that I can learn and explain others when asked for.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
It is well known that if any Kurheit happens, even if you get peshed, there will always be that burden with you in this world and in Dargah i.e. like if a thread breaks and even if you tie it back with a knot, it will always have a knot in it and can never become same again. My question is that if the kurheit is unintentional for medical reasons (accident/maternity etc.), does that apply as wby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
In one of the tracts of Bhai Sahib I was reading today, it was mentioned that Dasam Duar and Sachkhand are the same thing. However in the previous books couple of years back they were explained to be different. Is it just the context they are being used can make them same or different or am I missing something?by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Update: Finally with the help of some Gursikhs, we managed to get hold of the copy of original book and I read through the entire original story. There is no mention of Wajir Khan or Jabardast Khan in the book, but instead Mughal commander and deputy commander is mentioned and the commander was killed. So I am following the same story line and have commander and deputy commander mentioned in theby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Suicide is not an option and it can't be promoted at all. Sikhs fight till the last breath. The above bibian were only mentioned about not possibility of not becoming ghosts after killing themselves which was mentioned by veerji as the punishment of committing suicide (mistakenly mentioned Anokh Kaur but it was Anoop Kaur who got separated at Sirsa and got in hands of Mughals).by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I agree to the above except in a situation one kills self to protect her honor as happened in the story of Bibi Anokh Kaur, Bibi Basant Lata, Many Sikh bibis at Rawalpindi during 1947 etc.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks for telling about Giani Gian Singh. Sorry, Guru Kian Saakhian by Piara Singh Padam and it contains Bhat Vahis but there are some mistakes in that as well but overall it looked pretty detailed for history perspective. It is one of the books where I find mention of first Amrit Sanchaar in 1699 where Keski was defined as 5th Kakkar which I likedby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I am trying to find an easy way to explain kids about aunkar pronounciation at the end letter Haha. I know there are some complex rules about knowing when Haha is being used as vowel and hence its pronounciation would be very different. Is there an easy way as a starting point for the kids? I was thinking of teaching like: 1. aunkarh to last letter haha when the word is noun or an adjectiveby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Kulbir Singh veer jio, What are your thoughts about Giani Gian Singh? His books like Twarikh Guru Khalsa & Raj Khalsa are pretty famous but I am finding some serious mistakes in it. Can they be considered similar to Pracheen Panth Prakash by Bhai Rattan Singh Bhangu where the author without bias or filtering tried to document every Sakhi prevelant at that time? Also advice your views of book Gby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
The lack of books from jatha people seems to be an interest issue rather than the knowledge issue as the information from this website could easily be sorted and compiled in few booksby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks Vista jio, I read a little detailed version and her story looks impressive to be taught to kids as in almost entire story she is crediting the Amrit of Dasam Pathshah for her bravery and to encourage bravery to her soldiers. Also given that she changed the situation of Patiala from worse to very good at the age of 16 can be a lesson to us adults as well. Writer continously mentions herby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks for the information. I thought the same when I read the stories online especially when the title of Raja was bestowed by Abdali himself. However I got confused when I read that Misl Shaheedan under Jathedar Baba Deep Singh Ji after winning Barnala handed it over to Ala Singh and also that he took Khande-ki-Pahul by 5 pyaare where Nawab Kapoor Singh was serving as well, I thought that I shoby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! I wanted to learn about Rani Sahib Kaur of Patiala (daughter of Raja Amar Singh, granddaughter of Baba Ala Singh) and started reading with Baba Ala Singh ji as mentioned online. However the following paragraph had me confused as how can a Sikh remain neutral in vadda ghallughara. So I thought of asking sangat on the best author to read about Baba Ala Sinby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I checked with Punjab Digital Library chandigarh and they have few pages of that book (not sure which all stories). However they want to get the full book before they digitalize. Can anyone who lives close by help to visit their office and have a look at the available pages to see the story of Bibi Dalair Kaur?by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks again, I have been trying to find the original book since last 1 year without success and hence couple of months back started working with English versions available online. Since one singh mentioned that he got the copy, so I will wait to confirm if the story is in there. I definitely want to get the story presented in original form. Also there is a book called Bahadur Daler Kaur by Chby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thank you Bhai Preetam Singh Jeeo for the reply, it is helpful. I haven't seen the book myself yet but the person who got it said that there was no Bibi Dalair Kaur Story in the Adarshak Singhnia book. I have asked the copy so will confirm when I receive it and whether the book is the right one and if story is there in it or not. However in the story, Bibi Dalair Kaur's army had been continuoby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! WIth Guru Sahib's kirpa and with help of many Gursikhs, I have been trying to write picture story books for kids on the Shaheed Singhnis and started with the story of Dalair Kaur as available on many sites (e.g. ). The original story is claimed to have been written by Karam Singh in his book Adarshak Singhnia which is almost impossible to find. We are abby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
