WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! I started a task to summarize the Gurbani Viakran concepts in few pages for reference and teaching purposes. Currently first chapter of introduction and basic grammer is done, the blog will be updated periodically when additional chapters are complete. WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! Has anyone heard/read about ਬੀਬੀ ਭਿਖਾਂ in historical texts? I have read few stories recently but there is no mention from where the story is taken. In most cases the stories are taken from historical granths or janam saakhis but for ਬੀਬੀ ਭਿਖਾਂ I couldn't find the reference. Bhenji, only Gurbani and Ardaasan can keep you afloat in this tough situation. It is at this time when Gurbani and Sikh History gives us power to keep faith in Guru Sahib and do ardaasan that Guru Sahib solves our problem. Atleast there is a light as you mentioned that your husband takes interest in Sikhism. Read the saakhi of Bibi Santi at the below link.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! In Gurbani everywhere it is written GuruDuara but in day to day lives most Sikhs write Gurudwara in English and also the same in Punjabi. I understand that Duar is Punjabi & Dwar is Hindi. I am wondering how did it get changed from Guruduara to Gurudwara in our day to day lives and even in our Punjabi & Gurmat books?by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Wow, it seems like this is not going to end. If you all put this much effort in writing a poem on Rani Sahib Kaur Patiala, kids would benefit the most.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
We are not talking about Rani Sahib Kaur Patiala in the topic named so, so maybe we should just relax. Our history has many questions (mainly because we didn't save it and it has lot of milaawat) and the need is to research and present it which is in line with Gurbani (jo Gurbani di kasvatti te khara utre). Gursikhs need to get together to do so as it is not few people task. My understanding aby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I have one question and need sangat's views on the same. Even though the Rulers of Patiala (including Raja Ala Singh and Raja Amar Singh) were Amritdhari Sikhs, and created a place for the Sikhs to live and prosper without the continuous struggle with the Mughals, in most books it is mentioned that they were ਮੌਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤ. They helped Abdali and surrendered to him and thus gotby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! Few people have asked me why we say Jaikara as "Jo Gaj Ke Bulaave So Nihaal, Sat Sri Akal" instead of standard "Bole So Nihaal, Sat Sri Akal". I haven't done much research on this but according to my limited understanding the Jaikara is just "Sat Sri Akal", the lines we add in front are just additional lines which are added in various different ways.by Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
WaheguroojikaKhalsaWaheguroojikiFateh!! With Guru Sahib kirpa, another book of Rani Sahib Kaur Patiala is almost ready and is being sent for illustrations. For the research I have read many historical texts about her and want to conclude the book with a poem about her faith, bravery and intelligence. Bhenji, I have thought about this many times and even discussed with Gurinder Singh veerji regarding the electronic tool like LeapFrog but the cost for small quantity is significantly higher and people expect sikhi related things for free. Thanks, I will look into the book Rehatnaamey. In the English book "Sword and turban of Sikhs" it was mentioned under Bhai Nand Lal Ji's rehatnamey. If it is under Bhai Desa Singh ji's, it won't have that much impact as it is not panth parvaanit as it is Bhai Nand Lal ji. Thank you for this beautiful write up and great information. Just one small correction that Sarbloh is wrought iron and not cast iron. Cast Iron as 2-3% carbon content which makes it impure, wrought iron only has .1-.2%. Also cast iron breaks using hammer and sarbloh utensils are made using that process. Sarab means complete/pure and Loh means iron... so iron with lowest milawat is called Sarblohby Harmeet Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
