Lost soul Ji, I was very touched by your post, and couldn't resist responding to it. I'm NOT one of the many Gursikhs you can find on this Site, and am not worthy to give you any advice. However I can sympathize with you, and understand your state of mind a bit, as I'm also going through a similar mental struggle to keep my faith on Guru Ji. The only difference is that my struggle is notby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Sahib jeo, Very inspirational incidents! Thanks for sharing. One thing which I have observed since last many years is that, many times when I think bad about someone, or I think/ discuss about anyone's unfortunate situation or shortcoming (intentionally or otherwise), then very soon, I end up facing similar situation. For example, if someone is having a tough time with his boss, aby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Dear SadhSangat Jeo, Dass's grandfather did Akaal-chalana last week. Which path(s) would be most beneficial for the departed soul (besides the akhand / sehaj path, of course!)? Any other pointer/tip would be most welcome! Thanks, -Dassby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Bhai Sahib Harmeet Singh jeo, You write - "> It is well known that if any Kurheit happens, even > if you get peshed, there will always be that burden with you in this world and in Dargah". I'm not comfortable with this statement. Sadh Sangat Jeo, I came across a wonderful book on Sant jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale, and thought of sharing the same with the sangat. It highlights the following: 1. Socio-political state of India during 1984 - very well captured! 2. A brief introduction to Sikh Faith and principles - very weel summarized - can be referred to for educating a non-Sikh 3. Hypocrisy of Indian Governmentby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There is also an incident at the time of Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji (captured in the book - 'Se Kenhayia'), in which Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji gave darshan to Baba ji and (amongst other things) also mentioned that he prefers that Sikhs come to Him for darshan and also at the time of ardas, to have a Hazooria with them. More details can be found inside the book!by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Kulbir Singh Jeo, You have hit the nail on its head. I totally agree with you and this does seem a way forward in the right direction for Panth. However one major problem is the lack of 'right' leadership. I personally know few well-to-do sikhs in Delhi who would love to contribute finalcially for such causes. However all they need is someone to take the initiative - to take the ownersby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
But what if prachaar is done in a systematic way at a large scale? That will not only provide an opportunity for Sikhs (those who want) to express their grief in the manner they want, but will also educate non-Sikhs about the massive sacerifices of Guru Sahibaan and Sikhs have done. In a related note, last month on the occassion of Shahidi Diwas of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji, theby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I have also thought about this issue. NS44 Jeo, that is an ideal situation if one can keep japping Naam while doing his work. However due to 'dhil' from the person's side, or due to the nature of work, sometimes that may not be possible all the time. In that situation, what should be done? Let me ask this by taking an example. Let's assume there's someone who earns 1 lakh Rs/month and is ableby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Very inspirational...the kind of post which makes it worth visiting this forum. BTW, I checked on few online stores for Bhai Sahib's books, and everywhere I'm getting only punjabi versions. Bhai Sahib Upkaar Singh Jeo, Your point of not using hazooriya of kesree colour, does it have any historical evidence (rehatnama, any Guru-Sakhi, etc), or is it your own sharda? Pls note that I'm not trying to refute what u have mentioned; I'm just trying to find out the basis of it, and trying to learn from it. Thanks, -JPby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Dear Sadh sangat Jeo, In numerous instances in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, it is mentioned to "serve the Guru". For eg., "...Satgur Seveh Ghar Mahe udaasa" (Ang 127), "Satguru Seve So Jan Lekhe" (Ang 129) , etc What exactly is meant by serving the Guru? Naam Japna? I have always considered this act as a sign of humility (basically an extension of charan-dhoor of sangat, as akal74 Jeo as already mentioned). As long as it is not done for show-off, what harm is there in doing this? And what reservations can anyone have about this? Bhai Sahib Kulbir Singh Jeo, what do you think about it? Would you consider this as manmat???by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Should we not consider whatever is mentioned by our Guru Sahiban as Universal Truth? Then one should not expect any difference in the after-life evaluation process (for lack of better word!); however going by the experiences of Christians, it seems that their experinces are completely different. Are we to assume that the way to judge individual karmas depends upon one's religion? Doesn't semby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks for the wonderful responses! However the main question still remains unanswered: Why is there difference in the experiences faced by Christians vis-a-vis Sikhs/Hindus? Noone id denying the existence of jamdoots (Devil - Boss of Jamdoot's... that was a good one!), dharam rai, heaven, hell, etc. But hardly anyone from Christian background mentioned seeing jamdoots, dharam rai, etc.by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Dear Sadh Sangat Ji, I came across alot of descriptions of Near-Death experiences (NDEs) as experienced by people across the globe. One thing which confused me is, while those instances experienced by Sikhs/Hi ndus/Buddhists, etc very much reflect what our Guru Sahibans have mentioned in various places (for Eg. Sukhmani Sahib) about heaven, hell, 5 khands, Dharam Rai, Yamdoots, etc. You maby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Sahib Jaspreet Singh Jeo, In continuation to my previous post, please stop assuming things ("..... I see what you are saying. Apologies upfront for this post of mine, lest it comes out as argumentative. Before I say anything let me clear out two things. First, I totally agree that Amrit vela ishnaan MUST be stressed as it is Guru Sahib's Hukam. Secondly, perhaps I'm the worst person to comment on anything, as I am a maha-moorakh who has a LONG LONG LONG way to go in improving myself in everyway. Waheguru! Sant baba Waryam Singh Ji also mentions about few such incidents in his book - "How To Know Thy Real Self". They are varied and happened with different set of people.
