"Bhaugati Ji", tussi bilkul theek likhya hai! I am guilty of the same thing! I had the good fortune of doing sangat of few great Mahapurakhs, but I was Maha-moorakh, and at that time was ONLY interested in the worldly gains. By the time, Guru Ji ne soji bakshi, it was (maybe) too late! Anyways, just want to highlight one small thing regarding what is mentioned related to Bhagat Prahalad jiby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
You can find more anmol bachhan and kirtan from "Veer Ji" at He was one of the few true 'pracharaks' who stressed on the shabad, and not the body! Dass had the good fortune to know this great saint personally for many years; however dass was too immature at that time to get spiritual 'laha' from him :-(by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Thanks '1Kaur' bhein Ji & 'gsingh' Veer Ji for your kind inputs and comments! Both the comments have been in the favour of eradicating the insects. What does the gurmat say about it, though? Doesn't Sacche Patshah Guru Gobind Singh Ji says - "Chinti Te Kunchar Asthoola - Subh Pur Kirpa Drisht Kar Phoola". Will Akal Purakh condone this? I'm abit confused here...!by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji Ki Fateh! It is quite common in a household to have mosquitoes, cockroaches, rats and other insects. In order to rid them, one needs to use various ways for eradicating them. Please note that sometimes you DO NOT have an effective repellents. Hence you are left with no choice than to use a powerful alternative to kill them. Just want to know the Gurmatby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Amazing! Our rich heritage is full of such amazing deeds of sacrifice. But how unfortunate it is that so few sikhs (let alone people of other religions) know about such great sacrifices !!! Does anyone know about the 'genuine' organizations involved in the Sikhi prachar in India (only those about whom you are 100% sure that they function according to gurmat principles!)?by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I heard from someone about a Sukhmani Sahib sakhi which mentions that if one does 5 paths of Sukhmani Sahib in a day, a 'jaikara' is shouted in the 'dargah' for that person! Can anyone please give me the details of this sakhi? Thanks in advance!by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
In olden times, education was mostly of spiritual nature. Professional education was given very less focus (mainly people used to follow the same profession as their forefathers!). But unfortunately, now, the focus is entirely on professional and worldly knowledge. Perhaps that's why this is Kalyug!by jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Dear Sadh Sangat Jeeo, According to Guru Ji's bachan, we should be giving 10% of our earnings as Daswant. I have always wandered what all constitute as 'earnings', especially for a salaried person? As you know, the salary has various components (basic, HRA, medical, various allowances, etc). So should we be taking out 10% of Basic, or 10% ofby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

There is another incident from Sant Karam Singh Ji Hoti-Mardan Wale's life, where Babaji gives mukti to a struggling fish, and later on tells the background that it was a Pathan who used to slander Babaji while he was meditating. Once Babaji gives a bachan "why are you suffering like a fish...". After that pathan dies, he's gets the jooni of this fish. In the exact wordings of babaji, accordinby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I have checked with Singh Brothers; unfortunately other than 'Amrit Ki Hai', they don't have any other book from Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji in english. Does anyone have any of Bhai Sahib's book in pdf/word (soft copy) in English (other than Rangle-Sajjan) who would be kind enough to share it? Thanks in advance! -JPby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

One more book is on my wishlist, whcih I haven't been able to find: "In Search Of True Saint" by Bhai Rama Singh jee. I would really appreciate if anyone can share these books. Thanks in advance! Dass, -JPby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Dass came to know about the initiative being taken by AKJ and some other groups in creating an Amrit-wela simran sangat in various cities of Punjab (Patiala, etc). Dass is quite keen to have 'laha' of the sangat for doing amrit-wela simran in Delhi/Noida as well. I have heard/read from alot of Mahapurushs that doing simran at amrit-wela in sangby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Even I am under the same impression! However what happens if someone 'chuks' amrit, then does some bujr-kurehat. After realising his mistake, he again takes amrit? Does the bad karma of this kurehit also gets removed? Anyone pls throw some light on this! Thanks, Dass -JPby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Ideally yes! And all of us must strive for it. However, we all know that each of us are at a different level of Gursikhi and Waheguru Ji's grace. Hence the doubt in my mind! This becomes more relevant as the effect of Kalyug increases! As time will go by, it might become even more difficult not to get distracted by maya. You can just compare today's scenario with last century's! Hope I'm mby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that any amritdhari Sikh who keeps rehit (forgive me, but NOT necessary Sarabh-loh bibeki rehit!), refrains from bujr-kurehats, does nitnem and a bit of Naam-Simran and obviously doesn't do extreme bad karmas, doesn't have to go to Dharam-raaj! Is this not correct? As per Sant Baba Harnamby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I recently came across a post that discussed the merits of doing path in slow speed vs fast. However one point which didn't get discussed, and which has often confused me over the years is: How would you compare the 'mahatam' of doing 10 malas of say, Mool Mantra, done in a normal way vis-a-vis 1 mala done in a contemplating way (i.e. thinkingby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I believe that if an Amritdhari Sikh is in the process of getting enlightment by japping Naam and his swaas quota gets over, he again takes birth in a Gurmukh family, and his spirituality starts from the same state as where it ended in his last janam. Now my questions is - if he has some previous kamai, is it sure that he'll carry on the path ofby jpsingh77 - Gurmat Discussion Forum
