Great article, The more we put restrictions on ourselves the less chance we have of obtaining our goals. Even in worldy tasks. Take for example two poor children growing up together. They both face poverty, and poor living conditions, but one of these children knows that by working hard he will get a university degree and become rich. The other, who says his whole life, "I'm poor, and there'sby GurmanSingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Daas has had a few University exams where the teachers give the answers to questions before the test, and all one has to do is memorize the answers before coming to the exam. For some reason, its these tests which so many people do poorly on. The material ends up being so much that people don't get time to memorize it in time. People, Daas especially, will leave studying to a few hours or days beby GurmanSingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Agree with Bhai Sukhdeep Singh Ji, Christmas is a perfect example of what changing the purpose of a religous day can turn into. Conservative Christians today are very upset at how commercialized Christmas has become, and most people have forgotten the history behind it, and its spiritual significance for Christians. We should be rewarding our kids with gifts and presents for engaging in Sikhi actby GurmanSingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Gurbani Viyakaran: Nouns ending with Siharee Sihari ending Nouns Sometimes a noun will end with a Sihari, there are several reasons for this. Rule 1) ਸਬੰਧਕੀ ਪਦ (preposition word) The first possible reason that there will be a sihari on a noun is if it is a ਸਬੰਧਕੀ ਪਦ (preposition). Anyone who doesn't get goosebumps hearing Sant Ji's speaches must be lacking something Sikhi wise! Sant Ji was a warrior, and the best parcharic over the last quarter century. Its impossible to imagine Sant as a government agent, as unfortunatetly many people in the "panth" have been tricked into believing. Thanks Bhai Manvir Singh for the story on Amritvela, I had actually been looking for that story for a while. I remember hearing this story, how Guru Sahib completed Asa Ki Var(in keertan format) and only then allowed the Singhs to eat. I'm guessing this means that puratan Singhs did not eat until completing Asa Ki var, and we should try doing the same. Of course, there is no armies after us to kiby GurmanSingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Any soap/shampoo is permissible, after that its up to the individuial on how far he wants to go. Regular shampoos are not very good for our hair, but it is better then nothing. I have been told that yogurt is the best thing to use as a shampoo. Same with oils, mostly any oil is permissible, but honey oil is best. Oils like baby oil are not as good, but again, still better than nothing.by GurmanSingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Gurmukhi akhars should always be given the utmost respect, and should never been thrown on the ground, trash, left in a dirty place. Of chourse, I don't think one should go to the level of placing anything with Gurmukhi lipi in rumaleh, or wash your hands before reading, but there is a certain amount of respect it should be given.by GurmanSingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
