Several years ago when Harbhajan Singh Yogi visited the UK, I was intrigued to see his jewel encrusted Khanda (I think it was a brooch) and by a huge ring on his finger. I wanted to ask Yogi Ji about his thoughts on this display of wealth but did not get the opportunity as he was surrounded by his entourage and many people in the Sangat. I managed to approach a Singh who was with them and asby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Kulbir Singh Ji, Thanks for the answer. I also agree that the Prem is developed through Gurparsad and personally think it is more important than the method. Unjaanby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Maybe a stupid question but is prem more important than technique or can the tecnhique eventually build prem?by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Manvir Singh's Blog If I'm not mistaken the Singh with the question mark looks like Kulbir Singh.. On Wednesday 17th February I was invited by the Leeds University Sikh Society to do a talk at the university. After the talk I met a young gentleman who introduced himself to me. I found out that he was a student from France, although I thought he looked like he was from Sweden because he hadby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I have respect for Giani Ji's knowledge and their Katha but started doubting them after the panthic weekly site showed him at the funeral of Rulda's son. See Some supporters on the Sikhsangat site claim that he was there to teach the RSS the right way? Unless Giani Ji and the other big names have a very good reason for attending an RSS function, my doubts remain.by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I'm not sure if living in a cokroach infested flat is the right way to go. If he is being given a prize for his work in the Mathematics field, I see no reason why he should not take it if it improves his living conditions. It's not like he will be gaining the money through deception or fraud.by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Many years ago when I used to tie a Sidhi dastar with a lar, I had the opportunity to carry Maharaj. I felt so bad afterwards and regretted that I had carried Maharaj on my head as I used to hold the lar in my mouth. Unfortunately it only dawned on me later the mistake I had made. This caused me a great deal of anxiety, so I changed the way I tied my dastar so that saliva does not pollute myby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
On the subject of Dasvandh are there worthy 'Panthic' causes where we should give Dasvandh? I have built up x amount recently but am a firm believer of giving where it is required most and not to organisations with deep pockets, or that might use funds inappropriately . Ideally I would like to give to the victims of '84 crimes and to help Singh's still wasting away in Prisons on false charges.by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Having read parts of this site, I have to agree with Bhenji. The references that have been cited do not seem to contain the claims made by Bhai Harpal Singh. For instance, he mentions the book Storia Do Mogor by Niccolao Manucci and that he met Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji and he called them by the name 'Fakir'. This book is freely available and there is no mention of Fakir or that he received a speciby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Got this in an email from a friend. It's from SikhiWiki. I have not had a chance to read this site but there was a link from the Wiki to , and just a quick glance shows some interesting history that I have not previously known about. According to recent research, a new discovery now suggests that Guru Nanak Dev Ji may have travelled as far to the west as East Africa . A small settlement, aby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
For point 4 I think the following Shabad applies beautifully. The first two lines are amazing. If only this moorakh did vichaar! Maharaj kirpa karan!!!! ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ सलोकु मः ३ ॥ Salok mėhlā 3. Shalok, Third Mehl: ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਜੇਤਾ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ सतिगुरby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
