Why would we support a country that has attacked our holiest of shrines, raped our sisters, tortured and double crossed so many, treat Sikhs like 3rd class citizens, promote deras, babas, drugs and alcohol in Punjab, slowly destroy Sikh Monuments architecture and scriptures, divide Sikhs by causing all manner of controversies, the list as they say is endless. On the subject of natural disasters and the lives that perish, are these down to their karams? I ask the question as many people in these situations also have miraculous escapes as it was not time for them to go. btw - Are there any Sikh organisations collecting money for this disaster?by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I've just listened to Japji in Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji's melodious and calming voice thanks to the seva of the i-katha team. As the paath I read has a tasksali influence, I noticed that the their recitation was similar in some ways to how Taksali Singhs read paath. For instance a part from a couple of words, they did not pronounce ਸ਼, and clearly pronounced the Aunkar sounds, especially on woby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Sukhdeep Singh Ji, It's interesting you state that Bhai Bharpoor Singh's push had much power. Once I dropped of Bhai Rama Singh Ji after a simran programme and the car I drove at the time had very heavy doors. When I stopped outside their residence, I parked the car on a slope and said that I'll open the door for this reason. They said no it's ok, and managed to push the door open with aby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum

QuoteIt's just sad that we woman have to live in a male-dominated world, when we are the ones giving birth to these "guys." Trust me when I say that 'in the home despite what any man believes women rule'!. Thanks for the advice. Jaskirat Singh Ji, I suppose I could have made it more clearer when I mentioned that I was against mixed marriages. This is not the case, and like you mentioned I feel it is not an issue if both couples are Amritdhari. I totally agree that all these marriages should be conducted at a registry office. Surely the Akal Takht should take a stand against mixed faith marriaby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I’ve been invited to a mixed marriage wedding by family friends at a Gurdwara Sahib. The guy is Punjabi (trim/turban) who we know, and the girl is of Islamic faith. I personally do not condone mixed marriages at Guru Ghars, so how do I notify them of this without hurting their feelings? I'm surprised that Gurdwarey allow mixed marriages for one and secondly when the Giani's say stuff likeby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Sahib Ji, I think you should tone down your replies to Sukhdeep Singh Ji and more to the point to a fellow Gursikh. Franlky I'm surprised this post was allowed. We should not allow our emotions get in the way of discussions.by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Even if one has to memorise shabads before doing kirtan in Sangat surely that's a good thing right. I think Kulbir Singh Ji once mentioned how Raagis in Darbar Sahib have to memorise all their Shabads and are not allowed to use Amrit Kirtan Pothi. This maryada must have been there from the beginning for a reason. Even now most if not all Gursikhs that come over from India seem to have all Shabby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
QuoteSo God never gave naam to humans and bhagats prior to 1469 and nobody had any slightest chance to get salvation? Seems very unfair to me. The fact that God sent many prophets and messengers to spread Naam (as stated in Dasam Granth), though failed to preach Satnaam, shows that God did not conceal it. Like I said, Naam was given to very few individuals since Satguru has always been there. Bhaby Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum

16 Minutes! Wow. I know a Singh who can do it in 30 Minutes and for sure you cannot comprehend many words. I thought that was quick, but in Surtee will obviously be quicker, but not easy to master. Tarun Singh Ji, The reason why the Chardikalaa Singhs mentioned above had prem and respect for each other was that despite very minor differences of opinion they they had destroyed the falsehood of ego. During an Akhand Paath Bhog, if one has to sit through the reading of Raagmala and they dont believe it is Gurbani, it is not going to affect them in anyway. Heard Karam Philosphy - This is good and inspiring vichaar, funny when Kulbir Singh mentioned Soolin Khan falling 'accidentally' in the Kiln . From the recording, I have a question. I have also heard this story and if Guru Sahib said 5 sons were to be born we can't change it and replace it with 5 daughters because it is not politically correct What are we going to say next, that in 1699 5 persons took amrit rather than Panj Piyare?by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I respect the Singhs for keeping this rehat, as it seems like to me at least a tough one to keep outside of Taksal/School of same thinkers. Can someone point me to historical docs that state this rehat was kept or is this seena baseena tradition? Apologies to Mehtab Singh that this discussion has gone off on a tangent to his original post. I cannot contribute as I dont keep this rehat yet,by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There is a concept of trust as well. We dont always know who is Tyar bar Tyar and no one knows how much rehat another person keeps although on the face of it they may say they are Sarbloh Bibeki. Unless of course you have sangat of select few like minded Gursikhs.by Unjaan - Gurmat Discussion Forum
