One thing which still keeps me from making that leap of faith, is the presence of natural evils - tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, which seem to serve no other purpose than to destroy lives. Why would God create these phenomenon? Death or the visibe end of life is similar, whether it comes to one at a time or many at one time. AAP MARRE JAGG PARLO. So the magnitude of so many deaths at one tiby MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Veer Sidhu Ji I have few words to share here. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji in JAIL CHITHIAN writes about his discussion with Shaheed Bhagat Singh about his atheist views. And in his book; KI SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB DI POOJA BUT PRASTI HAI also Bhai Sahib Ji discusses this subject in detail. You should read both. 1) Why is there evil? If God is capable, and willing, to prevent -------------by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Veer Mehtab Singh Ji, you are true to say we, as a sikh, are better off than others. It is certainly so. No one can ever imagine, what riches we are hiding in our HAIR AND TURBANS. But, is it right to say that all people know about the status of our "General" Father. I do not think so. How we assume that all those who know not about our REHATS, DASby MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
About "Atheism" I have to be clear. Sidhu Ji please, help. Do you deny the existance of GOD or Do you deny the behaviour of GOD? Because, even If you dislike God, that still means, you believe in HIS existance. This will help you, me and others to understand the PROBLEM.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
The word itself is a compound one, made from UN + DITH, meaning NOT + SEEN. Examples of DITHA from GURBANI is dithaa sabh sansaar sukh na naam bin. I have seen the whole world - without the Lord's Name, there is no peace at all. DEKH KE UNDITH KEETA means "Though they had seen, yet they ignored that" The eloboration of the literal meanings is desired.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
That is very inspiring. It is like a miracle happening. It is the KIRPA of GURU SAHIB HIMSELF. A close relative of my wife, lives near HARMINDER SAHIB; but he never ever visits so often. So sad of him.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
That is very hard decision and can be debated to both sides. Our history says, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and others donated many acres of land to the GURDWARAS. Diamonds and Gold were also part of offerings to GURDWARA SAHIBS. ARGUMENT FOR "INVESTMENT" How those offerings were utilized, then? Most probably, land was cultivated or given on lease? That income comes to GURDWARAS again (i.e. NAby MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Gurmukh Bhein Ji, the book and the chapter I referred to you, is different from the one, you have quoted. Please do read that chapter, from JAIL CHITHIAN, if you have not so far. That is very inspiring. Secondly, about NEEND (Sleep), below I am trying to categorise different thoughts we see in GURBANI. Please, do not take my effort as related to yoby MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru JI Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Satkar Yog Gurmukh Bhein Ji, there is lot to learn from your experiences above said. We are here to learn from each other and get inspired. Like the Gyani Ji, I also feel that physical sleep is desired. In Gurbani, we do find quotes to discourage "sleep", but that sleep is metaphor for ignorance or vices. Whenever we tend to fall away from GURMAT, that is sort of "sleep". GURBANI says welcome to the sleep; which makes us closer to LORD. Gurbani also says; we should be on the path of NAAM JAAP, whether in sleep or otherwise, waby MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

That is very well written article. Thank you Veer Ji for that. Good arguments presented in it. Those who oppose HEMKUNT as GURASTHAAN, also mostly do not consider DASAMGRANTH as DASAM GURU BANI. It is interesting to note that, when they give the logic that this ASTHAN is related to BEFORE BIRTH OF GURU SAHIB, forget that they have already denied to DASAMGRANTH as DASAM GURU BANI.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Of course it is about Kings. But, first pankiti is totally about elephants only , and then secondly seemingly about horses only, then third one about big kings only and last pankiti, then the last pankiti, the conclusion. 'Fort' meaning, seems misfit. The whole pankiti, talks about horses, which run fast. Forts do not run. Singh Brothers' Nitnem Gutka also carries, Sihari with kot.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Probably, the tradition forbidding same pind marriages was to develop and nourish the feeling of brotherhood and sisterhood within villages. With families living away from same villages; it should not be a taboo, as in your case. We need to be very practical.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The efforts by SINGHS for parchar sewa and the MIRACLE by GURU SAHIB in attracting those people to GURU GHAR is great. I want to second the emtional-concern shown by Bhein Ji. Emotions are strong carriers, which carry us safely to GURU and GOD. We as human, are dead, without emotions. As we learn a language, with alphabet; so we learn BHAGTI through emotions.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Even after death, the body is treated, as supposed for a sikh. All kakkars, are placed on the body, as usual (if possible). In no case hair removal could be allowed. Regarding other body parts, there is no consensus. GURSIKHS did make such donations; while I also know Gursikhs, who object to it.by MB Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji KI Fateh There is lot to learn, from this post. There are woderful thoughts posted.------------I have always been with the feeling, that depression is the disease/problem, which needs curing through GURBANI mainly. That technique, involving inhale/exhale, is the lesson which comes with AMRIT. When we get AMRIT, FIVE OF THEM tell us. You need not worry about it till you are taught. Be simple as a child. Follow the steps, one by one. Getting NAAM and preserving it, is REHAT. A lot is available on that subject on this website. Gurbani is GURU.
