ਜਲੰਧਰ, 28 ਨਵੰਬਰ (ਪ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ)-ਅੱਜ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਹਾਇਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਨਕੋਦਰ ਰੋਡ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਹੋਈ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਕਈ ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਆਰ. ਪੀ. ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਸਕੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਟਾ ਲੈਣ 'ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਘਣੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਧੰਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਹਵਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਰੇਲ ਗੱਡੀ ਵਿਚ ਏ. ਸੀ. ਕਲਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਿਕਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਨ 1900 ਤੋਂ ਚਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਈ ਰਣਧੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਨ। ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਥੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਭੇਟਾ ਰਹਿਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾ ਭਾਈ ਰਣਧੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਚਲਾਈ ਸੀ। ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਨੇ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਇਹ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਡੇਰੇ 'ਚ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਥਾ ਡੇਰਾਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਵੀ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਲਗਾਉਣੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅੱਜ ਇਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ 100 ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਿਆ। ਦੋ ਜੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਦਾਜ ਦੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵਿਆਹ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਅੱਜ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਰੈਣ ਸਬਾਈ ਆਰੰਭ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਭੋਗ 29 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੀ 5 ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਕੀ ਪਿੰਡ, ਭਾਈ ਬਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ, ਸੁਖਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਮਾਸਟਰ ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਬਲਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ, ਭਾਈ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਯੂ. ਕੇ., ਭਾਈ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਲੰਧਰ, ਭਾਈ ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ, ਭਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੋਪੜ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਤ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਕ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਾਕੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਲ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ, ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜਥੇ ਨਾ ਮੰਗਵਾਏ ਜਾਣ।

A brief summary of the AKJ resolutions in India:

1. Members of AKJ will no longer be allowed to function as professional Ragis because they won't be allowed to accept money for Kirtan and other Gurmat Sevas.

2. Members of AKJ will not be permitted to go to Deras for Kirtan Sevas. AKJ does not promote Deravaad.

3. There are 7 Central Samagams a year in India and in these Samagams, Sangat from around the world comes. In local Samagams done regularly, outside Kirtanis should not be invited with paid tickets.

4. Priority be given to Kirtaniyas who participate in the Siri Akhand Paath Sahib related to the Samagam.

Why does it allow paying tickets for 7 central samagams but not local ones? How about outside India? Rules have to be same for everyone and every samagam... else it should be otherwise as for central samagam everyone will come anyways... however at local samagam no one comes so sangat has to give the ticket... I believe rules have to be same irrespective of the samagam and they should stop giving hotels to the keertani or foreign sangat first as that is more risky trend which is started.

certain keertanis have really crossed the line in the past. Hence this Gurmatta by the elders.

Jatha can't be a cult in a negative sense because it does not have 'Sant' like figure. Chardi Kala Gurmukhs are accorded maximum respect but they are not considered to be our saviours as is the case with cults. Having good rules, that protect an organization from becoming meaningless, are worth having. The new rules are good. Even if they implement half of it, it would bring Chardi Kala.

Jathedar Bhai Bakshish Singh jee had been eyeing to implement these rules from long time and I am really glad that he has finally succeeded in getting these rules passed. Guru Sahib hor Kirpa karan.

I feel this is a very good decision. You will always have a period of transition, but will long term create a new generation of keertanis who have more dedication to Gurmat and Panthic Sooch.

For a ordinary Sikh in luv with the guru with no affiliations to anyone- these steps will greatly help Sikhi, on the spectrum of sikhi the practice of Niskaam seva,NibaNn kirtan , is at the core, how could it make akj a cult? Akj is a strong band on the sikhi spectrum. What lead akj has taken will strengthen Sikhi, help in keeping it away from maeaa when it turns mohini . Humbly

CULT - please refrain from mentioning such words for the AKJ or for any Sikh who has full faith in SGGS.

This effort is of Self Policing - which not many people or jathas every carry out - and has to be congratulated- may Guru Sahib encourage furhter chardee kala

2 ਡੇਰਾਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਫੇਸਲੇ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਪੜਚੋਲ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਕਿਓਂਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੂਲੋਂ ਰੱਦ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਰਾਮਪੁਰ ਖੇੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਤੇ ਚੋਂਕ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ l ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਰਤਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਤਰਮਾਲੇ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਤਬਲਚੀ + ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਰ ਕੀਰਤਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਰੇਰ ਕੇ ਤਰਮਾਲੇ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ l ਇਹ ਫੇਸਲਾ ਵੀ ਜਥੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਕੀ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੰਡੀ ਹੈ ਫਿਰ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਓਥੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਵਰਜਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜੇਕਰ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਫੇਸਲੇ ਲੇਣੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਅੱਕ ਵੀ ਚੱਬਣਾ ਪੇਣਾ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਪੋਚਾ ਫੇਰੀਆਂ ਨਹੀ ਸਰਨਾ

It seems , in my humble opinion perspective of 1978akj jio should be viewed in the light of a seriously ignored issue about making payments to Kirtania.

Why should any Kirtania be paid at all - anywhere, if one can make one's living by other means- one is healthy to work until with physical challanges. Likely implicaiton of this is only Soorma Singh/Singhani or only exceptionally needy others be encouraged to take up Kirtan Seva FOR PAYMENT so as to make easier for these folks to live honourable life . All others should learn and do Kirtan - Selflessly / Nishkam. All employment in Gurdawara Sahib should be for those seniors /or exceptionally needy who find it difficult to earn their basic living.

It seems there is difference between a kirtania and a Raagi. A kirtania does kirtan for singing Keerat- praises of Wahegoroo Jio, out of luv and seeks, prioritizes ONLY union/connection/blessings of the Guru. A raagi adopts singing as a profession and may sing Gurbani as well for money. We as community seem to have become lazy to ;earn kirtan and fill gaps and sing the praises /Jas Gyan of Guru JiO/ Kirtan and are comfortable paying money to singers. Hence problems of Kirtania turning into the Raagis role and expectation. Sikhi is for helping needy, not for those who find easy money earning. Becoming a Raagi and not doing any other worldly tasks seems a tangent to Gurmat understanding of Kirat Karna and ofcourse Keerat Karna. Becoming a kirtania and follow raagi as a model do seems to have serious flaws. Greed takes over Need. Utsah takes over Ustat. Humbly

Basically, the SGPC Executive committee member Sardar Sukhdev Singh Bhaur has praised the Jatha decision of doing Kirtan without charging money and for deciding not to do Kirtan at Deras.

"Today when the Deravaad (Dera-ism) has taken a very dangerous form in the Panth, and every Dera is challenging the supremacy of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee and Siri Guru Panth, the decision by Akhand Kirtani Jatha of not doing Kirtan at Deras and for doing Nishkaam (without charging money) Seva of Kirtan, is of great importance."

Some within the Jatha today are not happy with this decision and are even saying that this will make some people leave the Jatha and that the Jatha is going to lose good Kirtanis. We need to be rest assurred. Jatha has no shortage of good Kirtanis with good Gurmukhi Jeevan. If anything, the famous Kirtanis who lack the basic Gurmukhi Jeevan, have been a bad influence on the Jatha. In the early days, the number of Jatha members were less but they had more Chardi Kala because back then, all Jatha members were Chardi Kala. Today, the numbers are high but the ones with Gursikh Jeevan are much less.

If Raagis are going to do Kirtan in Jatha, then what's the Visheshta (uniqueness) of the Jatha? If we want to listen to Raagi Kirtan, then we can go anywhere to listen to it. The Visheshta of Kirtan in Jatha is that the Kirtan is done Nishkaam (without worldly reward), with love and by Gurmukhs who have Gurmukhi Jeevan. There is more Rass in Kirtan when the Kirtan is done by Chardi Kala Gurmukhs.

AKJ India has our full support and we urge them to continue to work towards the Chardi Kala of Khalsa Panth by following Tatt-Gurmat.

Daas would say if 80% of new resolutions would be implented by Sangat then Panth and Jatha will be in Chardi Kala in few months. Because of this decision if any Kirtania wants to leave Jatha then better leave now than later but they should remember the Saakhi of Bhai Satta and Balvand when they became greedy.

We fully support these resolutions and try to implement with cooperation of sangat here in New York/New Jesey area. Paid Raagis and dera goers would not be allowed any more.

akj1978 questions about Deras, Daas would say Baba Harnaam Singh Jee and Baba Kartar Singh Jee were distinguished personalities in Sikh Panth so sharing virtues of such Gurmukhs were nothing but a great laha. Not to mention Baba Kartaar Singh use to bring his Jeep to carry Jatha Singhs to do Kirtan. Such prem in Singhs is long gone so does attendings the Mehta Chownk. I think Gursikhs with Bibek budh knows how to distinguish between a Gurmukh Sant and a dummy Bhekhi Sants.

Daas remembers in mid 80's a lot of people used to mock the waheguru waheguru style kirtan and used to stay that it can't compare with the classical kirtan that professional ragis do. Then the trend started changing. The Atam Ras/Rang kirtan darbars started by professional ragis started doing dhuni of simran... Slowly and slowly another trend started emerging. Local professional ragis who were not getting enough fame started attending jatha samagams. Being ragi they started getting time at jatha samagams. And they rose to fame. People likes the kirtan and so they started getting big bookings outside Jatha samagams. Lot of international invitations started coming their way. The rates being charged per hour increased. This lead to the current situation where in a lot jatha samagams you see professional kirtanis being the most sought after and sangat also only started following the schedule where they will be doing the kirtan. As soon as their favourite kirtani finished they went away with him. Thus turning the rensabai kirtans into groupism/fanism chunks except for a minority that stayed throughout the kirtan to get the laaha.

This decision by Jatha bring some sanity and reverts us back to what Jatha used to be. It should be appreciated as much as can and supported at all levels. Hope some sanity will return and we will have the gurmat jeevan kamai vaale kirtani singhs and singhnian doing kirtan seva in future samagams.

2.ਮਾਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੇਨੀ ਗਲਤ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅਗਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਸਿਖ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ(hardly may be 1-2%) ਲੈ ਵੀ ਲਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ੍ਜ਼ ਨੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸਿਖਾਉਣਾ ਬੋਹਤ ਉਦਮ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਟਾਇਮ consuming job ਹੈI

3.ਸਾਉੰਡ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਜਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਕੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀਰ ਦਾ ਤੋਰੀ- ਫੁਲਕਾ ਤੋਰਨ ਦਾ ਕਿੱਤਾ ਵੀ ਹੈI ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪੈਸੇ ਲਵੇ ਜਾ ਨਾ ਲਵੇ

ਜਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਛਣ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ ਓਹਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੀ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਇਹ ਤੇ ਆਪਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਨਾ ਕੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਆਸ ਪਾਸ ਕੇਹੜੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਬਦਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਭਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ l ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ S G P C ਜਾਂ D G P C ਵਾਂਗ ਕੋਈ ਟਾਸ੍ਕ ਫੋਰਸ ਤਾਂ ਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਾਈਏ ਤੇ ਓਹ ਛਿੱਲੀ ਜਾਣ l ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ
ਜਾਬਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਖ ਰਖਕੇ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ
ਸਿਰਫ ਦੋ ਨੁਕਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਤਫਸੀਲ ਮੰਗੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਹੇ ਨਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀ ਲਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ ਸਿੰਘ

Overall this is a good move without a doubt - daas would like to share on small story from ages ago 1981-82 I was only 17 at the time.
Giani Gian Singh Surjit was a keertnia not affiliated with the jatha was also blind - he used to do raag keertan beautifully. However around those years smagams were kicking off in the uk big time one every week almost. He used to attend for keertan however never took money once he had learnt jatha singh don;t take money for smagam keertan.

We are all one big family - this move will be exemplary in such a way it will probabaly bring keertania back , if not it will question their conscious (the ones that charge thousands) - as death of conscious is much out there at present.

Without naming anyone, on a side note daas hopes that all the resolutions are implemented and applicable on the team that made these decisions. Hopefully they themselves are bound by the rules.

Some of these items sound like solutions in search of problems that don't exist. The problem in Jatha has been people with character issues doing keertan (bujjer kurahitis, etc.). Not people who are raagis.

It seems like there's been pressure to bring quality back to Jatha but the solutions are off the mark. Half of the major Jatha keertanees would be disqualified based on these criteria including Bhai Sahib Jeevan Singh, Giani Amolak Singh and other Gurmukh keertanees of the past who used to be raagis or granthis at some point and still did keertan in jatha at that time. The resolutions seem to imply that no raagi/granthi/keertan teacher, etc. can be a member of Jatha. This is exclusive and doesn't seem to accomplish any purpose. Many raagis/granthis, etc. have good characters/jeevans and it doesn't make any sense to exclude them.

The resolution regarding deras is vague and potentially extremely divisive on a panthic level. There seems like an attempt to make certain people (Ranjit Singh Dhadhriawale) into villains (even if they have faults) and those who attend there as banned from the Jatha. This is unfortunate and divisive for the panth.
