Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale !!

Daas is going Vare/Balihare on the Great Saint Soldier who gave everything to the Sikh panth and kept the Sikhi Spirit going. We need to ask ourselves how many of us have the spirit in us as in the quotes below.

1) "I don't fear for a physical death, but when my concience dies, thats a real death"

2) "A brother, I don't know if he came here to spy upon me, or whatever, only SatGuru (God) knows, as I'm not all-knowing. He said that the police has made a plan to kill my brother. It is a good thing, a thing to be happy for. Any day I receive the news that my brother has been killed from the bullets of the police, I will surely raise 5 jaikara's."

3) "...For the Sikh faith I am ready to sacrifice everything I have... For the safeguard and protection of the Sikh religion we must all be united... I can die but I cannot see the desecration of my religion."

4) "If I ever become the Jathedar of Akal Takht, SGPC pardan, MLA, MP, or Wazir, I will deserve a shoe beating by the Sikh panth."

5) “When the time comes for confrontation, don't kill the poor, don't molest the women and don't trouble the old, but don't spare anyone who insults Guru Ji!"

Many Say even much bigger words but this "ਮਰ੍ਜੀਵਰਾ" lived by his words and showed to the world he had love to the PANTH,Sikhi, Guru Sahib, and Gursikhs.

Shaheeds don't belong to one Jathebandi or group. Shaheeds belong to the whole Panth and everyone in the Panth should be proud of Shaheeds.

Another thing to remember is that we should remember the Gunns (good qualities) of Shaheeds and not pick on their shortcomings. It's very cheap and despicable to pick on shortcomings of Shaheeds. At times, we may remind our companions who are alive, about their shortcomings, with the intention of helping them become better Gursikhs but what can be the motive behind slandering Shaheeds, who have left this world, other than malicious intent? It's purely evil to slander our respectable Shaheeds.

May Guru Sahib bless us with Bibek Budh to respect all Gursikhs, even if we have disagreements with them. It's fine to have disagreements but it's not fine to become sworn enemies because of these small differences.

A courageous champion of truth was born,
Saddened at how his homeland was torn,
At frequent funerals how he mourned,
A vow to annihilate the perpetrators was sworn

Touring villages highlighting how innocents were slain
Frail peasants viewed their very existence as a strain
There stood a serene figure who could alleviate their pain
An unblemished might that would revolutionize the game

His words spurred motivation, inspiring cohesive sturdiness
Never did the annals of history predict such defiance
Absorbing their plight, he initiated a dynamic resilience
The architects of despair would now feel fury of vengeance.

Swords were drawn from scabbards through divine instruction
Retribution was executed with perfect precision,
In a bloodbath of justice, sinful officials lost direction
Apostles of hate reeled with indecision,

No longer was the reign of terror presiding unspoken
A sleeping lion was roaring after being woken
A burning heart in a broad chest, they were no longer craven
Faceless shackles of slavery were cast off and broken

The ground beneath the generals of doom was quaking
Painstaking it was to witness subordinates stampeding
A plan of slaughter was devised to prevent them existing
Frightful and unparalleled, they began implementing

Soothing winds that once blew stung with even more severity
Never were the soldiers of truth prepared for such cruelty,
Torture, rape and death, the price for attempting to turn the dream into a reality
Darkness in the skies became an unending element of the scenery

Property reduced to ashes, bodies and souls hacked to pieces
The lion was tamed and with it the thrust towards justice
A new leadership failed to combat the growing crisis
Peasants once again accepted their downtrodden status

This hoard of sheep are being led by blind shepards,
To a slaughter house where they will meet their ends,
These shepards are brought by the highest bidder
Freedom, truth and justice there is not even a glimmer

But the champion’s footprints are engrained in the sands of time
His charisma and vigor will echo for all wedged in grime,
The peasants all over crave to hear his words and that is a certainty
He became the heartbeat of a generation, it will pound for eternity

Anyone who doesn't get goosebumps hearing Sant Ji's speaches must be lacking something Sikhi wise! Sant Ji was a warrior, and the best parcharic over the last quarter century. Its impossible to imagine Sant as a government agent, as unfortunatetly many people in the "panth" have been tricked into believing. The way he expressed his words were captivating, you can feel the bir rass from listening through a speaker, one could only imagine how it would have been to have actually been with him. You can also tell by his speeches that he meant every word he said, and also lived it as well.

Could a government agent....
Not eat after ACCIDENTALLY doing beadbi of Gurbani, and only eating after sitting through an entire Akhand path?
Do over 100 jap ji sahibs a day?
Sacrifice his life for the panth?

I'm not sure 99.9% of the Gursikhs out there could do these things, let alone a government agent.

Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale is a Sikh hero of modern times. He was born in the family of Baba Joginder Singh and Mata Nihal Kaur of the village Rode in Faridkot District. Baba Joginder Singh was a farmer of moderate means.

Bhindranwale who was youngest of the seven brothers after primary education took up farming in his village. He engaged himself in farming until 1965 when he joined the Damdami Taksal of Bhinder Kalan village, about 15 km north of Moga, then headed by Sant Gurbachan Singh Khalsa. Hence the epithet Bhindranwale. But his association with Bhinder village was only notional because Sant Gurbachan Singh, though associated with Gurdwara Akhand Prakash at Bhinder Kalan, usually took out his group of pupils on prolonged tours. Jarnail Singh underwent a one-year course in scriptural, theological and historical studies, at the hands of Sant Gurbachan Singh Khalsa. Partly during one of his tours but for the most part during his stay at Gurdwara Sis Asthan Patshahi IX, near Nabha Sahib village, 15 km south of Chandigarh along the Chandigarh-Patiala road.

In 1966, he rejoined his Family and settled down to farming again. He was married in 1966 to Bibi Pritam Kaur, daughter of Bhai Sucha Singh of Bilaspur, and had two sons, Ishar Singh and Inderjit Singh, born in 1971 and 1975 respectively. He continued his religious studies and also kept his close association with the Taksal. Which after the death of Sant Gurbachan Singh Khalsa, in June 1969, was headed by Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa, who established his headquarters at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Prakash at Mehta Chowk, 25-km northeast of Amritsar along the road to Sri Hargobindpur.

Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa was killed in a road accident. Before his death on 16 August 1977, he had mentioned the name of Sant Jarnail Singh as his successor as the new head of Damdami Taksal. Sant Jarnail Singh was formally, elected at the bhog ceremony in honor of Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa at Mehta Chowk on 25 August 1977. He had a meteoric rise to fame and his photographs began to be avidly displayed on the front pages of newspapers and journals across the continents. Trained in a Sikh seminary to preach the holy word of the Gurus, he stood face to face with history at several critical moments.

Bhindranwale within his seven brief years of a total of 37, marked by a precipitous course, emerged as a man of extraordinary grit and charisma. Soon he came to be talked about in the far-flung academe as well as in political forums. Sant Jarnail Singh exhibited. Remarkable enthusiasm in carrying out his missionary responsibilities. The primary task he addressed was the administrating of amrit (Khanda Baate de Pahul) . He vehemently denounced drugs, alcoholic drinks and trimming of hair. He took special notice of the Nirankari heresy, Which was undermining the Sikh Structure.

Opposition to the Nirankari had started during the time of his predecessor, Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa. Matters came to a head on the Baisakhi day of 1978 when Nirankaris held a convention at Amritsar. The Damdami Taksal under Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and the Akhand Kirtani Jatha, another purely religious organization, protested against government allowing the Nirankaris to hold their convention at a time the Sikhs were celebrating the birth anniversary of the Khalsa. Some of who were marching to the site of the convention were fired upon by Nirankari guardsmen, killing 13 of them on the spot and wounding 78 others. The episode brought Sant Bhindranwale into the political arena. He was more against the Akali Dal, which was then leading the government in the Punjab and was partner in the central authority in Delhi. On 4 January 1980, two days before the Lok Sabha poll, all the 64 Nirankari accused, including their chief Gurbachan Singh, being tried for the killing of Sikhs, were set at liberty, by the session’s judge of Karnal in Haryana. This bitterer Sant Bhindranwale. The Hindu media in the Punjab took the part of the Nirankaris on the pica of' secularism. So did the Congress party, which on returning to power at the center dismissed the Akali government in the Punjab, where too fresh elections were held and Congress government installed.

On 9 September 1981, Lala Jagat Narain, a press baron of Jalandhar, highly critical of Sant Bhindranwale, was assassinated. The Sant too had been a strong critic of Jagat Narain. The government suspected the Sant's hand in the murder and issued warrants for his arrest. He was then on a preaching tour in Haryana and was camping at Chando Kalan village in Hissar district when a combined force of Punjab and Haryana police raided the village to nab him. He himself escaped to the security of his own headquarters at Mehta Chowk, but the police fired upon his jatha or band of disciples; their baggage was looted, and some of the sacred texts burned. The Sant ji offered himself to arrest on 20 September 1981. This was followed by, a state of violence. The Sant was released after the Central Home Minister, Giani Zail Singh, declared in the Parliament on 14 October 1981 that there was no evidence against him to show his hand in Jagat Narain's murder.

The Sant had seen through the Congress conspiracy loaded against the Sikhs. His arrest and subsequent release raised the Sant's stature among the Sikh community who, especially the youth, judging hate against the moderate Akali leadership, flocked under his banner in ever increasing numbers. The Sant became increasingly outspoken. The government took notice of the change in Bhindranwale's stance and proceeded to take action against him. An attempt was made to arrest him while he was on a visit to Bombay was staying in the Singh Sabha Gurdwara at Dadar on 20 April 1982, but Sant Bhindranwale was again able to reach safely in the Gurdwara at Mehta Chowk.

On 19 July 1982 the police arrested Bhai Amrik Singh son of the late Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa and president of the All India Sikh Students Federation. Another senior member of thc Damdami Taksal, Bhai Thind Singh, was arrested on the following day. Sant Bhindranwale felt highly provoked. Feeling that sanctuary at Mehta Chowk was not safe enough, he moved to the Guru Nanak Nivas rest house in the Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar on 20 July. He then called for a Panthic convention on 25 July at which he announced thc launching of a morcha (campaign) For thc release of his men. Meanwhile. the Shiromai Akali Dal had been conducting a morcha since April 1982 against the digging of Satluj-Yamuna Link (S.Y.L.) canal which would divert part of Punjab's river waters to Haryana. The agitation inspire of immense support from the Sikh peasantry was not bearing any tangible fruit. This is because the site Kapori village on the Haryana-Punjab border where the Indian Prime minister had inaugurated the digging of the canal on 6 April 1982 was in a remote corner away from the Dal's headquarters. The Dal now decided to transfer the agitation now designated Dharam Yuddh or religious war, to Amritsar from 4 August 1982. Sant Jarnail Singh merged his own morcha with it, and thus became in a way the joint dictator of the entire Panth though he still swore loyalty to the former dictator of the Akali morcha, Sant Harchand Singh Longowal. A further provocation to the Sikhs came from the behavior of the Haryana government and police during the Asian Games held at Delhi in November 1982. Sikhs travelling from Punjab to Delhi or back were indiscriminately stopped, searched and humiliated. Violence in the Punjab was on the increase. It was becoming more and more clear that the government would seek a military Solution of the situation in Punjab rather than a political one. Sant Bhindranwale exhorted the people to be prepared for a showdown.

On 15 December 1983, he and his men entered the Akal Takht and with the help of a former major general of the Indian Army, Shahbeg Singh, prepared a network of defensive fortifications. In the meanwhile inside the complex collecting a large stock of arms, ammunition and rations anticipating the possibility of a prolonged siege. The government on its part made elaborate plans for all army action while pretending all along its readiness for negotiations and denying any intention of sending armed forces inside the Darbar Sahib complex. The Punjab was placed Under the President's rule on 6 October 1983. An ordinance declaring parts of the state a disturbed area was promulgated, and the police was given power to search, arrest or even shoot whom they will with immunity from legal action. Six additional divisions of the army including especially trained para commandos were inducted into Punjab by the end of May 1984. On 1 June, while the Sikhs had started preparations in the Golden Temple for the observation of the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan, which fell on the 3rd of June, strict curfew was clamped on Amritsar and surrounding districts. The actual assault of the army's operation nicknamed Blue Star took place on the night of 5-6 June 1984. A pitched battle ensued in which the army also used tanks and artillery.

Was just contemplating about how wonderfully happy (away from stress of modern life), simple (being a villager as my mama, being awaken by Gurdwara keertan at 4am, eating freshly self-grown crops), and blissful (because our Beloved Guru Sahiban, and Gem Gurmukhs has immensely blessed Punjab, india..with Their bhagti).

Dharma Propagating Dusht Daman Dashmesh Guru
Taken from Gurmat Parkash by Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh
Translated by Admin www.tapoban.org

In the above Mukhvaak of Sri Guru Dashmesh, is contained the true meaning and ideal of Sri Dasam Guru Patshah Kalgidhar Maharaj’s birth. This ideal and message is for the salvation of the world and not restricted to any particular group or sect. In the beginning of the above Sri Mukhvaak it is clearly written “ਹਮ ਇਹ ਕਾਜ ਜਗਤ ਮੋ ਆਏ ॥ ਧਰਮ ਹੇਤ ਗੁਰਦੇਵਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥” meaning, the God of gods, true Gurdev, Akaal Purakh sent us to spread Dharma in the world.

The purpose of Sri Dashmesh jee’s birth is to spread dharma in the world. He came to the world to save it and came in the form of Guru Avtar. He came to the world for the world. It was not just for those where he was born. After being born in Patna city, the fact that he later came to Punjab and unfurled his banner and beat his drum this was symbolic of the fact that it was necessary according to the time, to begin his work of saving the world there. Tyranny was at its height and particularly out of the whole world, it was so in India and in India it was at its peak there, where this divinely sent incarnation of Dharma came and began his work of salvation of the world in his childhood at Sri Patna Sahib. Not only did he begin his work, but for ages to come, he planted the foundation of the unshakeable pillar of world salvation.

On the godly and sacred earth of Sri Anandpur Sahib at the special place of Sri Kesgarh, Sri Dashmesh jee created the eternal, dharma-protecting, dharma-spreading, dharma-creating, world-saving, and celebrated Khalsa Panth. That Khalsa Nation, which upon its birth, with the power of its birth-giving Lord, shook the roots of the centuries old entrenched tyrannical rule and began the proliferation of true dharma and benevolent rule. For propagating dharma, saving those practicing dharma and uprooting those against dharma, for the salvation of the earth, he gave the sacrifice in the sacred fire of this world of the lives of dharmic individuals which created the eternal foundation for the ever sacrifice-giving Khalsa Kaum.

Yes! Only dharmic individuals can sacrifice. Without this dharma and life giving seed, millions of residents of Hindustan were dying like cowards after becoming the victims of the violence of tyrants. Like sheep, without any faith, they were accepting the oppression of tyrants. No national leader had any integrity or courage to make a sacrifice for the sake of country or nation, in order to save dharma. The reason for this was that none had any portion of true dharma in their lives.

People ignorant of Sri Dashmesh jee’s ideals and those with lowly intellect cannot understand why in the above mukhvaak by Sri Dashmesh jee, two opposing concepts are present of spreading dharma and destroying tyrants. They see these as two contradictory riddles. In fact these are not contradictory. Without destroying the tyranny of tyrants, salvation of the world and spread of dharma is impossible. By destroying the tyranny of tyrants, Dusht-daman Dashmesh Guru jee is saving the tyrants. He does not kill the tyrants but stops their tyranny. If the tyranny of the tyrants cannot be removed by any other means, with his marvelous hands, he puts them on the edge of his Khanda and finishes their births and deaths and puts new life in them. It was by placing them on the edge of the Khanda that Sri Dashmesh jee transformed those who were living as tyrants and by taking the sacrifice of their lives, gave them immortal and sacrifice-giving life. He did so to such an extent that he created the Khalsa Panth of such immortals and gave the sacrifice-giving Khalsa life which will continue through the ages. Whenever there will be the ignominy of tyranny and unrighteousness in the world, this eternal Dharmic Panth will give unceasing sacrifices and revive Dharma and destroy unrighteous tyranny and sin.

Without implanting the seed of dharmic living in the people of the world, the disease of tyranny cannot be cured and curing this disease of tyranny is most essential. Satguru Dashmesh jee gave those people living life like tyrants, engrossed in clutches of the five evils the medicine of eternal life and by putting them on the edge of the Khanda, revived them and implanted in them the divine light of the Khalsa Dharma and turned them into brave, righteous heroes, and created a divine Panth of those warriors committed to the service of others. He put in each one, the spirit of 125,000. In this way, through the help of these chosen ones, he saved the countless oppressed innocents who were burdened with the load of tyranny. Even now, when the world, currently burning in the fire of oppression and desire, will need to be saved, it will be through Sri Dashmesh jee’s eternal, warrior-spirit filled, sava-lakh fighting, limitless power-wielding, righteous people [Khalsa].

Those whose consciousness is oppressed by the five demons (lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego), how can they be saviors or save anyone? Those who themselves are loaded with the weight of desire, jealousy, hatred, selfishness, etc. how can they boast of saving or reforming others? Characterless, powerless, lifeless, heroism-less, unrighteous bravery-less, insincere, power-seeking reformers and those “patriots” who constantly fight each other, even in bands of millions, cannot save any state or nation.

Those who have not corrected their own lives and have not improved themselves, who have not reformed their own character, who have not defeated their desiring mind, how can they, themselves prisoners of their own corruption, free their country from slavery? I accept that these freedom-mongers don’t want spiritual freedom, but those enslaved by the five [spiritual] demons cannot break the bonds of political slavery either.

Our Dusht Daman, dharma-protecting, dharma-spreading Dashmesh Pita first broke the chains imposed by the inner-demons and then ,by giving them the gift of life and spirituality, made them righteous warriors and then had them save the country and nation and had them destroy the outer demons and tyrants. By making them righteous warriors, he taught them the recitation of the Nitnemi-Chaupaiee which teaches the destroying of tyrants. In the daily Rehras of these righteous warriors, every night, the Ardaas to destroy these inner and outer tyrants and demons is performed. When they recite with supplication, their reference is to the common tyrants of the entire state and nation and primarily, to stop the tyranny of the tyrants, then also to destroy the tyrants who oppose dharma and oppress the people, and also, finally, to the destruction of the inner five demons, for which they pray every instant. Righteous Dashmesh Jee’s tyrant-destroying army doesn’t discriminate between their own and others. A tyrant, oppressor, enemy of dharma, enemy of the people and dishonest person may be even from their own country or own nation or area, they must all be reformed and [the Khalsa] will only rest after their tyranny destroyed.
This is the tyranny-destroying righteous Khalsa Panth Sri Dashmesh jee has created and the seed of helping others and destroying tyranny will never be finished from them. Such selfless souls will eternally be born in Khalsa Panth whose progeny will continue forever.

Don’t worry that today, those atheists, greedy for charitable offerings have grown from our Panth and have dared to seize Gurdwara funds. They will all, each and every one, be punished. Masand-ism will be shattered, atheism will be destroyed and the barbarity of the atheists will also be wiped away. In the end, Dusht Daman’s beloved Panth will unravel the seams of tyranny. The benevolent and righteous rule of the Khalsa will come and no tyrant will remain defiant. The barbarians will be eliminated. Those who are lost and deluded will come on the right path and following Sri Dashmesh’s ideals, the country will be saved. What of the country, the entire world will be saved and all evil-doers and tyrants will be destroyed.

The great and righteous, maryada-parshotam Satguru Dashmesh jee has announced the Akali order that:

and by doing so, destroyed the foundation of false gurudoms. Just as in his great dusht-damani life battle, Dusht Damani Dashmesh Satguru by his own hands destroyed the gurudom of the masands, in the same way, Satguru Dashmesh’s creation, Dusht-Daman-Khalsa-Panth will destroy the currently growing gurdoms and whenever this disease will grow, the Guru Khalsa will remove it without discrimination.

...ps..I saw a india talk show on the web where evil uses reverse psychology to appeal to sentiments of tyrant leader being shot by her Sikh bodyguards, by beginning show with emotional photo of tyrant leader's dead body with family.
Guru Pyareo, photos posted on youtube, and facebook, showing photos of tyrant leader being shot by her Sikh bodyguards is only getting support for evil instead of Sikhs, because world don't know, neither do they care, why else would western world support that govt. and give Dastaar Sikhs no support at school (as in france), employment (world over), and even games, as in Montreal?
Let us just have full barosa in Akal Purakh's justice, and play His game His way, with NAAM, and GURBANI, forget about appealing to anyone else on web, elsewhere, but if you still choose to, and win, then shabash to you!
But I will try to impatiently wait for my Mitar Pyareo to give me justice!

Sant jee's personality was so great. He was a general in appearance and fact. If I was to praise him in today's teenager's language I would say "He's a Gangsta"

Sant jee was a Babbar Sher. He was Mount Everest amongst mountains and Chandan amongst trees. He was 22 carrot gold and Hans amongst birds. He was an nuclear bomb amongst weapons and Karaah Parshaad amongst foods. We are very fortunate to have lived in the era that he was born. May Guru Sahib create more Gurmukh Babbar Shers like him because we badly need them now, more than ever before.

Vaah Upkaar Singh ji - Bahut Dhanvaad !!!
