Question about Sarbloh Batai
September 02, 2011 02:43AM
Vaahiguroo jee ka khalsa vaahiguroo jee kee fateh

Whenever I drink milk or water from a sarbloh bata, there is always a weird taste. When the milk is almost finished, I notice that the little bit remaining at the bottom has changed colours, and is not white but grey-ish. Is this normal? I do not like drinking this part of the milk, it makes me feel like throwing up.

I was just wondering is this normal for sarbloh? Or is there something wrong with my batai.

Please post a picture of your bata, could be that it's to rusty. The taste of fresh cold
milk or garam jal in a bata is undescribable

what kind of milk you using bro ?

I think you need to apply some citric acid to the baattey and dry them quickly right after you wash them. Don't leave in moist environments, that is a contributing factor for them to rust. Leave them in a clean dry place. Leave them wrapped in a clean dry towel if you have to. Other than that, those baattey are fine.

I always get the grey residue when eating or drinking and I love it. Its the sweetest thing
ever its like medicine. The reside is iron and it makes the body stronger. When BHai Daya
SIngh Ji refers to Sarab Loh langar as swaad ( tasty) he is stating the residue is what makes it
taste so good. THat and of course the bani being recited while preparing sabji.

I've used citric acid before, but i cleaned them again today thoroughly with reta. They should be good to go, as i made garam jal in them and it was very good.

Upkaar Singh, I use 2 % milk, not sure what company it is.

Hmm, the only answer that I can think of is that you are not stirring the milk while you boil it. If you do not stir it then the milk sticks to the bottom and
turns black

Thank you for your help, I guess my sarbloh batai are good to go, I just need to get used to the taste.

veer jee, check to see if you milk contains vitamin A palmatite!

It's another fancy name for FISH OIL!

Also, don't get angry with me

A few months back when I warned a Bibi Jee, she turned back on me and yelled at me for being too picky. She said apaan davaaee khaune aaa, vitamin lene aa, who cares, kinaa bharez karogey ? Eday vich kee rakhiyaa hoyaa ?

I agree to some extenct, but I draw my line here:

Consuming something knowingly, vs consuming something unknowingly.

If it does contain that, then definitely switch to 3.25 % Homogeneizd milk!

And also, boil milk before drinking (Bhagat Jee's advice, lol)

Your batay look just fine, so I'm suggesting a change of milk, 2 % is as good as water, and water turns batay brown.

Try 3 %

Upkaar Singh Jee I agree with you, I try my best not to eat anything that has any ingredients derived from animals, thats one of the main reasons i chose to become bibeki.

I Just checked the milk does contain vitamin A palmatite. So I guess I should stop drinking it.
Are all 3.25% good to go? Also what kind of sugar should I use? is brown sugar ok?

i think we can only go so far in trying to be cautious about what contains what and what doesnt. Even the fruits and vegetables we buy from our grocery stores have added additional unnecessary ingredients.

thats why organic milk is the best!

if ppl have a problem drinking milk then just stop drinking it and drink something else

i think there has been a discussion on this forum about why ppl should and shoudnt drink milk, and one singh decided to stop drinking milk for good.

some companies have fish oil and some dont, some have it in 3% some in 2% it all depends on the company that produces the milk
