The story behind these questions is a couplet by Alaama Iqbal and the explanation is further down the post:
ਹਜ਼ਾਰੋਂ ਸਾਲ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਅਪਨੀ ਬੇਨੂਰੀ ਪੇ ਰੋਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਚਮਨ ਮੇਂ ਦੀਦਾਵਰ ਪੈਦਾ।For thousands of years the beautiful flower of Nargis cries because its attractiveness is not appreciated (as that of Rose or Lotus is), its then that with great difficulty that the beholder is born.
What good is the beauty of the flower if there is no beholder?
What good is the Shingaar and beauty of the wife if her husband is not attracted to her?
Same way, till Guru Sahib accepts the Kamaaee of a humble Gursikh, the Gursikh feels like the Nargis flower who despite being very beautiful does not attract the beholder as the Rose flower or the Lotus flower does.
This is why there are pleas is Gurbani whereby Vaheguru jee has been implored again and again to just look at us once with love. Just one glance will fill us and satisfy us till eternity.

ਨਰਗਿਸ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇਨੂਰੀ ਤੇ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਰੋਏਗੀ?Expansion:
ਉਹ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਰੂਪੀ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਜੋ ਅਜੇ ਮਹਿਰੂਮੇ ਪਿਜ਼ੀਰਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਮਹਿਰੂਮੇ-ਨਦਰੇ-ਮਿਹਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇਨੂਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧੂਰੇਪਨ ਤੇ ਰੋਵੇਗਾ? ਦੱਸੋ ਕਦੋਂ ਗਲ ਲਾਵੋਗੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ?
ਦੀਦਾਵਰ ਕਦੋਂ ਅੱਖ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਦੇਖੇਗਾ?Expansion:
ਦੀਦਾਵਰ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਦੀਦ ਕਰਨਵਾਲਾ ਭਾਵ ਦੇਖਣਵਾਲਾ। ਇਥੇ ਦੀਦਾਵਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਿਰ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਿਰ ਰੀਸਾਲੂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਦੇਖ ਲਵੇ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਨਵ-ਵਿਆਹਤ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਕਟਾਖ ਭਰੀ ਤੱਕਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹਾਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਕਦੋਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਰੀਸਾਲੂ ਦੇ ਕਟਾਖਯ ਭਰੀ ਤੱਕਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਸ ਲਿਆ, ਫੇਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬੱਸ ਮਰ ਹੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਕਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਰੀਸਾਲੂ ਦਾ ਸਪਰਸ਼ ਸਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
