Waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh

What is effective way of using Computer/ Net (including chat)/ Mobile etc. for self gurmat learning and spreading gurmat.

I know some gursikhs stop chatting on net, as they feel it waste precious time or they could have utilized the same time for other things such as doing reciting baani/simran, charity works etc. means more active on real grounds than being active virtually.

Would request sadh sangat to shed some light that how one should balance the virtual and real life for better grooming/ developing as True Gursikh.

In India, many decades ago, there used to be an Advertisement by Verka Milk that had the following message:

If you must drink, then drink Milk.

The message was geared towards people who drink liquor. If you must drink something, then why not drink milk? Punjabis in the past were known for being strong and well-built. This was the result of consumption of dairy products like Milk, Butter, Gheo, Yogurt, Khoya (concentrated milk). In olden days, it was considered a sin to sell milk. Every farmer household used to have buffaloes and cows for abundant consumption of dairy products. Urban people were considered to be weak and small-hearted because they used to buy milk and thus used to consume less dairy products. But now the picture in the rural Punjab has changed and everyone (rich or poor) is selling milk.

Taking cue from this slogan of Verka Milk, Daas humbly submits the following:

If you must go online, then go to www.gurmatbibek.com. grinning smiley

This would result in time well spent online.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Many people stop chatting on MSN, and say that they are wasting precious time. But then again, they don't exactly do something any better with that time, though some do say it gives them time to do paath, simran, etc.

One thing that I believe is, that as a human, we are not born for the sole purpose of achieving eternal peace, or being One with Vaheguru. We have been provided with a World full of much, and as a human, we should use what we need. Leaving it all together doesn't make much sense. If that were the case, and that was how we could have Darshan, then why would Vaheguru put us on a world that contains other materialistic objects/surroundings?
I think that we should enjoy out time spent on Earth, and not lock up ourselves from the rest of the world. Enjoy, take what you want, give with all your heart, but do not become attached to it. Think of it as a home. You stay, do what you like, follow your Sikhi, but also balance it with the world around us, instead of completely shuning the world. But don't become attached to this home, as when Akal Purkh wills, you will have to leave everything, and be prepared to move out.

Bhul chuk mauf,

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
