Sorry, maybe I should have been clearer. What I mean is when you have been suggested a match by someone, eg. Gursikhs and then the families have met and all criteria have been matched etc. but before deciding for definite to marry, there is a period to get to know the person.by Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
gurfateh jeoo, I've got a couple of years before it'll be my time, but I was just wondering what is the appropriate contact allowed with the person you are thinking of marrying is? i.e what kind and how much conversation is allowed, and how long should this period be before actual marriage is decided?by Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Yes true I suppose. I don't know why but this is something that is really worrying me, I'm hesitant to take parshad at the Gurdwara now just incaseby Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
see this link they sell grease tallow for use on polishing/buffer wheels. It would be basically impossible to check at each gurdwara the source of the kirpan used for bhet and then find out whether the manufacturer used it... so really i guess its just something to hope for the best for.. thoughts?by Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I don't know specifically about the polish on kirpans, but I searched net for metal polish and some seemed to have animal products (unless I have misunderstood). Thats good if its true that no coating is used. Does anyone else know more about whether this is the case or not? I'm worried because if I made an effort I could make sure that I personally went to manufacturers and made sure kirpan andby Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Gurfateh Daas has a very great desire from the heart for sarbloh bibek, however I need certain circumstances to change before I can take the plunge. In the meantime I am just trying to think out all issues associated with it. I was just wondering that if there were perhaps polishes on the sarbloh utensils that food was cooked in, is this something to worry about it affecting the bibek status oby Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Gurfateh After having a read of prof sahib singh teeka I understand the purpose of the Asankh jap asankh bhao... is to think about Vaheguru Ji's creative power, an then realise that we cannot sacrifice ourselves to him even once, let alone talk about his creative power, however I still do not understand the purpose of the bani starting "Asankh moorakh andh ghor", please can Gursikhs share whaby Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Gurfateh I was just wondering what are the main differences between the way Gurbani Ucharan is done in Sampradas (eg taksal), and others such as AKJ, Sikh Missionary? Is it true that even among Taksalis and Nihangs some believe in more pronounciation of laga matras and some less, and some believe in bindia and some don't? Also in AKJ and missionary, is it that the Gurbani is read simply asby Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Thank you all Gursikhs for your posts, it is very reassuring to hear the views of other gursikhs. I will remove this worry from my mind now Might look into the veggie soaps though.by Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Pyaree sadh sangat jio, daas is very troubled two thoughts stuck in the mind. As amritdharis we must not eat meat or anything containing animal products, however my first problem is that what about the fertilizers used on wheat and vegetables. Gur fateh pyari saadh sangat Daas has another question regarding hukamnamas, hopefully gursikhs can help me, what I need to ask is, if there is something about nindaks in your hukamnama, and you feel that maharaj is not saying you are the nindak but at the same time you don't feel you are having any problems from any one doing ninda of you, what are we meant to understand as the meaning of ninby Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum

In Sikhi what do gursikhs advise as being the times when a hukamnama should be taken? I mean other than in the morning and afternoon, what do gursikhs advise as being the issues which we must ask for aagiya from Maharaj? Furthermore, does anyone have any general advice on what ways to understand hukamnamas when they have been taken for particular issues?by Theguptone - Gurmat Discussion Forum
