VJKK VJKF The actual date of Vaisakhi was 29th March 1699CE. The reason the dates shift is because of the accumulating error of Bikrami calenders. For example, in 1469, Vaisakhi was on the 27th March 1469CE. Currently the Bikrami calender has shifted this date to the 14th April, and now the Nanakshahi calender has been introduced to fix this date and have a solar basis rather than a Lunarby Navroop Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

VJKK VJKF, Daas requests Sangat to provide further vichar on the following pankiti of Sri Jupp Ji Sahib (if not already done elsewhere in another post): ਗੁਰਾ ਇਕ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਇਕੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਮੈ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੫॥ Daas has always interpreted this pankiti as an ardaas. VJKK VJKF Trust Singh, thank you so much for your post. You and other Singhs on this forum have been extremely helpful, and cleared this issue for me. In the past I've asked many Singhs as to how the tippee in ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ is pronouced, but to no avail. Your post has been a ray of sunshine on this uneducated mind. Long may the efforts of this forum continue! VJKFby Navroop Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I personally feel that it would be dishonourable to keep a Kirpan without having taken Amrit, and though one could argue the same for all Kakaars, I believe there is an inherent responsibility iby Navroop Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Bhai Kulbir Singh Ji, Reading Bhai Gurdas jee's Kabit Savaiya 345, I can't help but think of the time when Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj, 'disappeared' at the river bank and Akaal Purukh revealed Himself to him. What intrigues me, is the time reference: ਆਠ ਜਾਮ ਸਾਠ ਘੜੀ What exactly does this mean? Eight days? 60 Gharis? Iby Navroop Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Regarding the Kautak at Darbar Sahib, I recently read something that will shed some new light on the matter. This is an extract from the excellant Golden Temple Book "...The stunned Sikh onlookers ascribed its appearance as a divine sign from Guru Ram Das, but the colonial administration spun it differently: 'We think it is also a sign of the great prosperity of the British Rule'.... ....by Navroop Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
