Spirit Vinegar

I recently read up about Spirit Vinegar that it is made from a process that includes alcohol and wanted some advice, as it wasn't really a reliable source I read this from. This ingredient seems to be in many things especially vegetarian food - Tomato Ketchup as an example. Does anyone know more about this & whether it's ok to consume?

As far as using vinegar is concerned, Gursikhs who keep Bibek do not use it.

If the question is being asked about 'spirit vinegar' being used in some bazaar/factory made food item, then the food item itself is not okay to consume as it is not made by Gursikhs.
