When Will the Sun Rise?

She raises her body,
gusts out her wings
A long, shrill cry bursts
out as she sings
“When will the sun rise,
And give light to me?”
She’s been waiting for eons
Perched on this tree
Waiting and waiting
And waiting
To see.

ਮਿਤਰੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੜੇਗਾ ਮਨਮੁਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਮੁਕ ਲੈਣ ਦੋ ।।
ਚਾਨਣ ਵੀ ਹੋਏਗਾ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਛੁਪ ਲੈਣ ਦੋ ।।
ਉਚੀਆਂ ਲਾਟਾਂ ਮਚਣਗੀਆਂ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਗਾਰੀ ਧੁਖ ਲੈਣ ਦੋ ।।
ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਹੋਏਗੀ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ ਲੁਕ ਲੈਣ ਦੋ ।।
ਨੂਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਣੇ ਨੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਪੁਗ ਲੈਣ ਦੋ ।।
