Naam Drid and bhai sahib

We all know when Bhai Randhir Singh took amrit, they were not given naam dhrid. He was just given normal amrit. Today in jatha, only naamdhird punj singh can administer naam and amrit. Therefore did bhai sahib start the tradition of placing the hand on the head of the abylkhi and giving naam on his first ever seva as the punj. Also what about the other 4 singhs in the punj, how did they get naam dhrid?? I'v been think about this for sometime.

The practice of Naam DriR was not started by Bhai Sahib or the Akhand Kirtani Jatha. It has been going on from the beginning. The seed of Naam has to be implanted in the hirda of the seeker. The Punj Pyare with Naam Kamayee do this at the time of Amrit Sinchaar. Please refer to Bhai Sahib's book "Amrit kee Hai" for more details.

At the time when Bhai Sahib chhaked Amrit, a person who was not part of of Punj Pyare, came and said the Gurmantra to Bhai Sahib in his ear. Bhai Sahib's delicate heart was greatly disturbed with this. Later on, he got Naam driR directly from Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee.

Bhai Sahib did not start this practice of Swaas Giraasi Naam Abhyaas. Punj Pyare at that time used to do Naam DriR to seekers. The exception happened only with Bhai Sahib at the time he took Amrit.
