Disgusting, Many Prominent "Jatha Singhs" attended.

Its not true that prominent Jatha members attended this so called conference. The Jathedar jee of Akhand Kirtani Jatha did not attend and actually left that morning when he found out that Badal and company were going to come. Many other Gursikhs too left. The Samagam was actually organized by Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh's grandson Bhai Manjit Singh.

This conference was organized by people who are politically motivated.

Main people you see in this picture are either direct supporters of Badal or people who have been directly or indirectly responsible for causing splits and creating factions in the Jatha. These people have personal and political motives as Bhai Kulbir Singh mentioned above. It is daas' true belief that no Gurmukh singh who does naam kamai will ever associate with such people.

The Kirtaniya Singh which you are mentioning was in England on the dates mentioned in the news so I am not sure how true the "names" in this news are. I agree with Bhai Kulbir Singh that prominent AKJ Singhs were not present there.

But a Strong press statement against Badal from AKJ Singhs should be released.

The news is true. The narangwal smagam was two weeks before it made the news, and yes the austrailia singh was present there.

I may say some things here which may some may consider harsh, or due to krodh. That is not my intention, so please forgive me. Some things must be clarified. The politics played by these so-called Jatha Singhs is ridiculous. They are clowns in my eyes. No true Panthic minded GurSikh would ever present a siropaa to this traitor Badal.

I'm not sure why people on this forum try to be politically correct, and often not name a person in question by their name. If these people claim to represent AKJ, and are present at these types of functions in the public eye, then it is fair game to speak of them in the open, including public forums such as this.

This news is from April 16, 2011. The report is dated April 21-28 because that's the date on the newspaper, but the function seems to have taken place in mid-April. He was obviously in Punjab at the time and attended the Amritsar Samagam.

It's clear that Mehar Singh was also there with Panchainee chief Baldev Singh. It makes no difference if these Singhs are considered "puraatan" Singhs or old sevaadars in the Jatha. Their actions clearly do not fall in line with the ideals of Bhai Sahib or AKJ. For starters, why are they even supporting this fraud Baldev Singh? The Jatha clearly cut him off after Jathedaar Bhai Raam Singh Jee passed away, when Pooran Jee was chosen Jathedaar (and that was when AKJ was united, before the Bhai Mohinder Singh/Bhai Bakshish Singh split). So no mainstream Jatha Singh or Singhnee should keep sangat with Baldev Singh, as he clearly has only "kursee" in mind.

This pattern of allowing these types of people to perform keertan, tabla, and other sevaa in AKJ will continue because of this political correctness mindset. People these days are scared to say anything controversial about an older keertaniyaa due to fears that they will be considered troublemakers. There is no harm in speaking the truth. Rather it is our duty and obligation as Sikhs and as Khalsa of Dashmesh Pitaa to stand up against these violations. Let us see if mainstream Jatha "leadership" has any stance on this issue in the upcoming weeks. What a shame!

Daas didn't wanted to name and shame anyone. But daas believe that if we really believe in the gurmat principles that Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh ji followed it will be wrong to stay quiet on this issue.

1978 Shaheedi Saka was a well planned and organised masaccre of Singhs under the authority of this same Badal. This same Badal provided police escort to the narakdhari baba to escape out of Punjab and escape any cases.

Its a real shame that the same kirtaniya who doesn't stops running around in samagams cliaming he was with Bhai Fauja Singh Ji and he still feels why he was left behind from getting Shahidi will end being part of a program to honour the same Badal.

Naam Abhyasi Gurmukh Singhs need to come forward and ensure that such people do not get prominence as Jatha kirtaniyas. Bhai Sahib once stopped a famous kirtani jatha from doing kirtan as they were patit. He used his sarabloh Karas in the darbaar and started doing paralle kirtan. If we claim to be following the same tat gurmat principles how can we allow such kirtan samagams to happen under the name of same Bhai sahib...

Thinking with a calm mind. Majority of gursikhs would have gone there in memory of Bhai Sahib. Without expecting "politicians from within" and Badal will come there for their own interest. So it will be unwise to paint everyone with the same brush.

Having said that, for the organizers to even consider calling such person is very shameless.

Singh jee, those days are long gone.
Even patits who are well know for luring bibian are still being given time at smagams because their families have the influence.
