Sangat - presence and absence

There is no doubt that sangat of Gursikhs and attendance at gurmat samagams helps very much on the Gurmat path especially if you have young kids.

Place where daas lives, we do not have many tyar bar tyar singhs. Also there is no gursikh family with kids. So there is no social contact with same aged children from gursikh families. Daas sees that this has a very big impact on the understanding of Gursikh jeevan on the children. It is much more challenging to engage them in Naam Abhyaas, rehat etc. Our experience has shown that when we go to Samagams in other countries and stay in sangat for 3-4 days, it helps the children a lot in engaging in gursikhi jeevan.

As a parent, you can not forcibly ask kids to do simran, read gurbani. its only by Guru sahib's kirpa that they develop love for gurbani.

How can one cope with this absence of sangat in day to day life? What will be the suggested steps to help raise children in Gursikhi jeevan. Also is it wrong to ask Guru sahib everyday to help us relocate to a place where we get the sangat of gursikhs on a more regular basis. When gurbani asks us to live whereever we are in his will...

"Also is it wrong to ask Guru sahib everyday to help us relocate to a place where we get the sangat of gursikhs on a more regular basis. When gurbani asks us to live where ever we are in his will"

I dont think its wrong to do Ardas and ask for Sangat nor do I know of any pangti which states
"to live where ever we are in his will". It is Gurus Hukum/will for us to meet and serve sangat
so it does not make sense to say where we are is meant as it his will.

Guru Sahib also says

ਜਿਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਿਸਰੇ ਉਥੇ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੈ
Bhai Daya Singh Ji rehatnama
and

Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji rehatnama

SO it is evident from above rehatnamey that Guru Sahib wants us to avoid
forgetful-sangat and join with good sangat. Even if there is a local Gurdwara close
by you should take your children there as there is no better Sangat then GUru Sahib.

Hanji there is no better sangat then Guru Sahib.

Daas is more interested in hearing from gursikhs about activities, ways to enhance the gurmat spiritual qualities in young children when there is no sangat of same aged kids from gursikh families and very few singhs overall. One thing kids are very good at is copying what they see. Generally they are more likely to pickup from outsiders as compared to parents. When they play out with non sikh friends, study with all non sikhs and do not get company of singhs apart from parents (who are considered to be 'You always tell me to do that') they are more likely to be impacted by the influence of non sikhs.
