I agree with Kulbir Singh Jee. Baba Jee was a pooran Gursikh rooh. He was personally hand picked by Guru Gobind SIngh Jee. So to doubt Baba Jee is to doubt Guru Jee's choice. Ganda Singh is the only Sikh historian to do justice with Baba Jee. He mentions when Ram Raiyas were persecuting Sikhs for reading Chaupi Sahib(Dasam Bani), Baba Jee personally went to punish the Ram Raiyas. We again need Baby rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

It is very likely that the ancestors of the non Sikh families who have those sroops were Sikhs. Probably there must be many such puraatan sroops all over the sub continent that need to be found.by rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Great find. According to this Rukn Ud Din received Charn Amrit from Guru Nanak Dev Jee. After that he was tortured and killed. This could mean that he was the first Shaheed of the Sikh Panth who got Shaheed way back during the times of the 1st Guru Jee because he became a Sikh.by rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

The way he was killed secretly, there are already talks of executing Bhai Rajoana and other Sikh prisoners like this. The GOI did this to first test people's reaction. If it is a positive reaction from the Indian public, I think they will repeat this with other prisoners, especially Sikh prisoners. Mistakes can happen to anyone. How many of us have not made mistakes when doing paath? So many people while doing Sodhar shabad in Rehras Sahib end up accidentally doing Munda Santokh Sharam Pat Choli pauri from Japji Sahib. Or when they read the Sodhar Pauri in Japji Sahib lose track and end up reciting Rehras Sahib and wonder how they got to Rehras Sahib. So mistakes can happen. I have heard from this forum that some people can bind two Larivaar Sainchees into one making the Sroop of Guru Granth Sahib Jee like this. How does one bind two sainchees. This seems like a very good method to take care of the severe shortage of Larivaar sroops in the west. Or if one has the knowledge of binding they can bring unbinded angs of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee's angs from India and bby rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Those Brahmins should realize those Shaheeds did not die as Brahmins. They died as Sikhs of the Guru. Caste had nothing to do with their sacrifice. This is similar to how many Jats are so proud of shaheeds of Jatt background or how many Tarkhans are proud of Jassa Singh Ramgaria or Baba Raam Singh Namdhari. Such Sikhs have still not realized the essence of Sikhi if they are proud of caste.by rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Sukhdeep Singh Jee, although I can understand your point of not comparing anything to Gurbani. But I don't think insulting Baba Bulle Shah Jee as "drunkard" is the right thing to do. Baba Bulle Shah Jee is a part our Punjabi heritage. Nothing wrong with reading his poetry from a literary point of view just as I read the poetry of Surjit Paatar or Shiv Kumar Batalvi. In Chandi Di Vaar it says ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਿਐ ਘਰ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਆਵੈ ਧਾਇ ॥ Does simran here mean remember or doing simran(chanting) of the name of the 9th Guru? like how many Sikhs while doing kirtan start saying "Dhan Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Jee". Gurbani and Naam can heal. Only we need full trust in the Guru. If one were to go on Sarb Rog Ka aukhad naam website you can see many such cases of people who have been healed through the power of Gurbani. And to think that we have faithless "Sikhs" like the Kala Afghanis and Missionaries who openly say that Naam and Gurbani cannot heal anyone's illness. I personally don't like this new trend of mixing Gatka with stuntman type action. Gatka isn't meant for entertainment. Chewing light bulbs, breaking ice cubes with a sledge hammer on someone's chest, driving a motor cycle over someone's head how is that even Gatka? If they want to display martial arts they should do that, but not the other stuff.by rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
genocide is the correct work. I feel even when we speak in punjabi, often we call it Charaasi de Dange. We need to start correctly calling it Charaasi da Ghalukara because that is what it was. Even the attack on operation blue star, we should call it operation blue star massacre or saka neela tara if you are speaking in Punjabi. Sukhdeep Singh Jee, obama is the better choice if he wins. Romney is a moorakh like Bush who wants to start more wars. He refers to Sikhs as "sheikhs". Obama on the other hand properly pronounces "Sikh" the way it should be not Seeekhs or Sheikhs.by rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
The thing about puraatan sources one should always read them with the touchstone of Gurbani. Accept whatever is in accordance with Gurbani and ignore those parts that oppose Gurbani/Gurmat(such as Bhang drinking, meat). One should read Panth Prakash. It is beautifully written in poetic form plus it shows the lifestyle of puraatan Singhs. But reading it with the touchstone of Gurmat is the key toby rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Many such stories occurred in that year. There was an author whose last name is babbar, he wrote a very good book giving many such accounts of victims of 84. When the BJP was in power they had banned his book. It just comes to show that that BJP likes to use 84 anti Sikh riots as a card against congress every now and then, but they don't want Sikhs to mention anything about 84 and expect Sikhs toby rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Randhir Singh Jee's writing style is very unique like the quote above, it almost like poem. The words he uses are not used in today's spoken language. Some of his books use such vocabulary that sometimes I feel there should be a glossary chapter included in every one of his books. Only the Jyot Vigaas book has included a glossary, but even that glossary has left out many difficult words. Somby rsingh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

we don't need to clarify anything to traitors like kp gill and brar. In Sikh history books written since 84 and even in the future, these two men will always be known as traitors/gadhaars who will be included in the list of other known traitors like Gangu and the Dogras. Even Guru Nanak Dev Jee mentions that during Their time period, the Khatris had left their profession of being a warrior and became traders. It is very much possible that same was true for the other castes. The Brahmins were in theory suppose to be priests or dedicated to religious duties but over time they left this and became worldly.
