If the choice arises between Vaheguru and anything else that is dear to the jeev, the choice should automatically be Vaheguru. Is that even a question? Many times while treading the path of Gurmat we are put to test by Vaheguru to see how much we can sacrifice for his preet. Nothing should be out of bounds, as true ashiqs of Akal Purkh, our only focus should be Prabhu-prapti and no matter whby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
It is true that without Sangat it is very easy to become lazy. The best option is to find some like-minded gursikhs to do amritvela with everyday. That way you can all call each other and make sure that you are awake on time. Ardaas is always the only way that amritvela can become pakka.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I came across this website that has a lot of books online. There are a lot books by Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee and also many other Gurmukh writers. Check it out and I think there is also an option to ask for particular books that they don't have online yet.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vah Vah! Guru Sahib is doing Beant Kirpa! It seems that the arth vichaar is getting better with every ashtpadhi. May Guru Sahib do more kirpa and give completion to this seva.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I personally comb my hair right after ishnaan by using a little bit of oil. Some Gursikhs like to make their kesh hare first and then using oil they comb their hair before tying dastar to do ardaas. It is easier to comb hair while it is still wet and that is why some Gursikh's comb their hair once right after ishnaan and then once while they are about to tie their dastar.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Jaskirat Singh has given a lot of good reasons for why Kara and Kirpan should be of Sarbloh only, and there are probably many more reasons both spiritual and physical for why Sarbloh is the only metal that is allowed for Kirpan and Kara. But looking at it from a practical viewpoint, it just makes more sense for Kirpan and Kara to be only Sarbloh. Guru Gobind Singh jee chose Sarbloh as thby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There are many reasons that can be given for why our Kara and Kirpan should only be sarbloh. But the most important reason is because it is Hukam of Guru Gobind Singh jee. How can the blind man question the all seeing Guru? We should become Hukmi-bande and just follow Guru Sahib's hukam without a second thought.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
What is left to say after Bhai Sahib has written such a wonderful account of our trip? From our experience this trip we realized as a jatha that pind vale are very receptive to parchaar. Even the uneducated people when they found out that they had been cheated by SGPC over Guru Sahib's saroop were furious. Taking heed from this incident everyone is encouraged to do parchaar in their pind baby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Vaheguru! Bhai Sahib has done an amazing job in painting the picture of darshan ishnaan of Sri Darbar Sahib. Truly it is beyond words to express the anand that is received when getting darshan there. When we met the Mallian vale Singhs I really felt like we were at home. It felt like meeting friends that you have lived with your whole life. The love that they showed us warmed our heartsby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
With Guru Sahib's kirpa we are going to Punjab for yatra and for Bhai Sampooran Singh jee's anand karaj later this week and these last few days all I can think about is the greatness of Sri Harmandir Sahib. Last night Guru Sahib blessed sangat with Rainsabayee Keertan and everyone came to get as much laha as they could. One incident last night stunned me into vismaad when a Bhujangi Singh showed me how beautiful innocence is. Before the Rainsabayee Keertan was to start some of the Singhs went early to prepare langar at the house where the Keertan was to be held. We only use water straight from the faucet after doing sudhayee of the faucet. I am not sure what your situation is specifically but if you are going somewhere far then it is best to pack water with you from home. It does not seem right to use water out of a water dispenser. Regarding Sudhayee in the kitchen, it is just a general rule to make anything that you are using while for cooking suby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Chaur Sahib should be done with both hands by a tyar bar tyar Gursikh in bana who has washed his or her hands before doing said seva. It should be done with full satkaar and love for Guru Sahib and not just flung around to complete the requirement.by Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I deleted a lot of my apps and now it is working. One request is that every time you open a shabad you have to toggle on the larivaar option, can this not be a permanent setting that we can choose? Gurman Singh jee, Maybe this is fun because we have referred to your award winning khicharhee. Hahaha! It would be so fun to teach this to little kids and make games with Vyakaran rules so that young kids can learn these things from the very beginning and not have to relearn everything when they get older like I am having to do now. A pronoun is used to replace a noun or a noun phrase so that the same word is not being repeated over and over. For example we would write: Jaspreet Singh has some very valid questions. Hopefully his questions can be answered. In the above sentences Jaspreet Singh is the noun and "his" would be the pronoun used to refer to the noun. An adverb is basically any word that describes a vby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum

I have always found it very confusing whenever I read the different terms used to talk about Gurbani Vyakaran so I made this chart as a reference point to remember what each term means. This is a very simple reference chart and does not take into account different forms of nouns or any of the rules associated with these terms. Please let me know if there are any mistakes and I will edit thisby Preetam Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
