Perhaps the previous messages were not clear. Im not saying Ayurvedic medicine/philosophy is all together bad. I remember saying they have some good things to say. But in regards to diet. Gursikhs who follow Bibek do not follow Ayurvedic philosophy in which diet requirements are heavily based on Brahmin teachings. Things like avoiding onion or garlic have no place in Gurmat. I would be more skeptical of sources from non-Gursikhs. 12 years seems like number far too stretched. For Gursikhs darshan of their Guru is like the fire flys darshan for fire, the whole panth would have been shaheed if Guru Sahib was imprisoned for 12 years. 1-2 years seems more reasonable personally I would agree with one year. According to history Guru Sahib was only suppose to say for 40 dby Suthra Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Baptized Sikh, Though I agree fresh food is the best food many of the things you are saying are based on the Brahmins ayurvedic philosophy not Gurmat Bibek Philosophy. For example, not keeping food for over two hours and not eating onions and garlic are based on Ayurvedic Philosophy. No where in Gurmat are these things prohibited. Hsingh Kavi Santokh Singh mentioned there are 4 types of Sikhs. One is a Sikh the most lowest type of Sikh is he who adpopts adopts Sikhi for monetary gain . Such questions are difficult to answer. Some people ( namely radha swamis and yogis) mistakenly believe that the sound of imaginary bells is the sound of Anhad Naad, but Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji has refuted such claims stating that such sounds are merely illusions of the mind. He has spoken in detail about true Anhad Naad and Naam in his book Anhad Shabad Dasam Dwaar.by Suthra Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I think Bhai Sahib is discreetly telling us the maryada when attending sangat. Using the metaphor of a goat he is saying we should be humble like the goat instead of being proud like the lion. As G Singh has mentioned a prideful attitude has no value where as humbleness has much value in sangat. We should make value of our human lives and be like the goat sacrificing ourselves in sangat. There is an interesting story during the times of Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji. One day he went to Sri Harmandir Sahib. After Bhog he refused to eat Degh. The Sikh- Politicians became angry and started scolding him claiming that Bhog was done to the degh. Bhai Sahib said there was no maryada so how could bhog have taken place. Bhai Sahib then made degh according to maryada. He then didby Suthra Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
It depends what you believe is happening during Ardas and kirpan bhet. If you believe Guru Sahib is partaking the food then you say Bhog , if you believe he is approving/accepting the offering then you say Parvan. Using references Giani Ji has given some evidence that traditionally proves it was Parvan, but Giani Ji has shared his views without being sensitive to the practices of certain samparaby Suthra Singh - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Depending on ones previous karam and present Kamaee , Naam can be recited at the beginning stage ( manually by the mouth) or automatically at the navel when the Khanda of Naam is in full force. QuoteI am always skeptical of such stories. If dharam raaj is appointed by Akaal Purakh Himself and has highest authority to judge all the sould from all the universes, can he be made a fool of like this?
