Please answer my humble question also. All I request is to please explain the difference between 'Says Nanak' and 'Say O Nanak' I am not trying to stir any controversies, I just want to know the difference for my own better understanding. I ask with very humble intentions.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Ok, maybe the above question's wording made it sound controversial, even though i had no such intentions. so could you please just explain the difference between 'Says Nanak' and 'Say O Nanak' Thanks.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Kulbir Singh Jee, I have a quick question regarding your posts above. Bases on your posts, am i correct to infer that 1. 'Say O Nanak' means that Nirankaar is instructing Guru Sahib to say the remaining words in that pankti. 2. 'Says Nanak' means Guru Sahib says something himself to the respective audience(s). Please provide your comments on the above.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I would say the question is wrong, as there is only ONE. You cannot add to it or subtract from it.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Pardon my ignorance but isn't there a shabad related to Kurmaai in Gurbani. I am not sure what is the meaning of that Shabad. Could someone please shed light on the respective Shabad. That should be able to give the correct answer as to whether Kurmaai is Gurmat related or not?by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Sukhdeep Singh Jee, In your explanation you have mentioned the four alphabets. But you also say that two of the letters ( words) are recited internally (non vocally) while the other two words are recited vocally ( out loud) with the tongue. Could you please mention which two are recited vocally and which are recited non-vocally. And is there any reason to do it the way you just mentionby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
The current situation in India is no different. From outside it is emphasized that caste holds no grounds but when it comes to marriage, many are very much interested in knowing ones caste, land, status etc. If I could add on a funnier but sadly very true side: There is another "caste" which is prevalent for a long time now. The NRI caste. If one belongs to the NRI caste then you hold highesby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai prakash.s.bagga jee, I am not very good with grammar but there seems to be a slight problem with your latest interpretation. You are saying that if the two letters are of the Khasam then one would be saved. The second pankiti is ਹੋਇਗਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਤ ਲੇਇਗਾ ਰਾਖਿ ॥੩॥੩੩॥ (attention to the word HOYEGA, ਹੋਇਗਾ) But in your case the secondby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
SAS Nagar is far from being tobacco free. The ground reality speaks very differently. There are tobacco shops everywhere. Just passing instructions is one thing, strictly implementing/enforcing them is yet another. So, I am not sure if this is just another publicity stunt by the government (as is the case 90% of the times).by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Bijla Singh Jee, could you please shed light on the sakhi of conversation of Guru Sahib with Waheguru? Even though it seems to be beyond this topic and requires lengthy discussion (as you have mentioned), it would be very helpful.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Jaskirat Singh jee, I think Parupkaar Singh jee is not contesting the heading of this website: ਸਤਿਗੁਰਬਚਨਕਮਾਵਣੇਸਚਾਏਹੁਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ He is just asking where is the Hukam/Bachan mentioned/explained/written that one should only eat from other sarblohis who only eat from other sarblohis.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
One substitute for baking powder is to use baking soda (which is just calcium carbonate) and lime or any other acidic medium. This does the same thing as baking powder. But, then again it depends on whether one would want to term cream of tartar as ok for bibek or not.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I thought a lot of the people on this forum use baking powder. Please provide your views on this as this seems to be a serious thing to take care about.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Cream of Tartar is a key ingredient of any baking powder. I have been searching on the internet and found that cream of tartar is a by-product of the wine-making process: Thus, is it OK to use baking powder which has this key ingredient? Excerpt: Potassium bitartrate crystallizes in wine casks during the fermentation of grape juice, and can precipitate out of wine in bottles. The cby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Keskee: 3 yards Dastaar: 5 yards (as already stated by Bhai Kulbir Singh Jee) 1 yard is about 0.925 meters. In case of half cloth (torn in the middle), simply double the length. Material quality does not really matter. Whatever is most comfortable, should be the best choice. By the way, there is something thinner than Full voil, it is mal-mal (or F-64). And then there is something thby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
I am not able to view the video posted of Jathedar jee. It seems to be an image and not a video. Could the respective video be posted?by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Kulbir Singh Jeeo, One small clarification. The reason you have mentioned above for ਦੇਹਿਂ to be nasal is that this Pankiti is being addressed to Vaheguru. But even if we were to not consider that fact, even then since ਦੇਹਿ is a verb which ends with a sihari, shouldn't it automatically be pronounced nasal?by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Bhai Harinder Singh Jeeo, Could you please mention the panktis of Gurbani (Bhattan de Swaiyai) where the Nihkalank Prophecy has been mentioned (in praise of Sri Guru Ramdas Jee Maharaj)?by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Basanti is the color which matches the saro(n) ful (flower) color. This in English would be the flowers on the mustard plant. I once took the saro(n)ful flower to the dastar shop to get an exact match for basanti color. This saro(n) ful color in english is the almost exact match of fluorescent yellow.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Kulbir Singh Jee Thank you very much for the explanation. It was very helpful. I understood it very clearly. With this in mind, could you please list some more Bandish which have been used in Gurbani and the number of maatra for each of them. It would be very helpful.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
Bhai Kulbir Singh Jeeo One slight off-topic question: When you say 16 mantra in each line, how would you do a count? ਲੁਕਾਈ ਨੇ ਜਬ ਕੀ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ। For example in the above pankati, I am correctly counting the maatra as 8? I am just trying to learn how to count the maatra for each line. Thanksby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
There is a Taksaal Shop on the first floor on the periphery of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. It is close to the Sri Guru Arjan Dev Nivas entrance. You shall be able to get Lareevaar Senchia there.by Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum

Bhai Kulbir Singh Jeeo, Just one genuine question about ur comment (not for agrument sake): "Seva of humanity cannot be done and shouldn't be done at the cost of Gurmat spirituality." Usually during Samagams the laargri singhs have to do seva all night preparing the parshada and are usually not able to attend the amrit-vela in the morning or even if they do, usually they are very tiredby Tejasv - Gurmat Discussion Forum
