I am still at odds as to why we say tishna sometime instead of trishna ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ( desires). If we can add bindi why cant we add a missing alphabet?

Tishna is a Tadbhav word in many parts of Punjab and as such needs not be pronounced as the original word Trishna. Only nasal sounds and addhak sounds are added and not alphabets to Gurbani words.

Bhai sahib jeeo, just a few questions:

1) ਕੂੜ ਕੀ ਸੋਇ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਨਾਹੀ, ਮਨਸਾ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ and
ਮਨਹੁ, ਕਿਉ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਏਵਡੁ ਦਾਤਾ, ਜਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ, ਆਹਾਰੁ ਪਹੁਚਾਵਏ ॥

I read it as ਪਹੁਂਚੈ and ਪਹੁਂਚਾਵਏ Is this wrong?

2) ਬਾਣੀ ਤ ਕਚੀ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ, ਹੋਰ ਕਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Why isn't a bindi (nasal sound) pronounced in ਬਾਝਹੁ ?

3) ਸਭਨਾ ਗਲਾ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥
Why isn't ਕਿਉ pronounced with a nasal sound?

4) ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਰਚਿਆ, ਜੋਤਿ ਰਾਖੀ, ਤਾ, ਤੂ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥33॥
I think second ਸ in ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ is vishesh dhuni?

Bhai sahib jeeo, I am no-one to do sudhaaee. Actually quite the opposite, GURU AMAR DAS JI did my sudhaee I got thapaR from the 1st pangtee till the last, and im afraid my mann still isn't Shud

Previously words ending with nanna or mamma were left out for nasal sounds as nasal sound occurs naturally with Nanna and Mamma but then it was suggested to identify such words too, for nasal sound guidance. Keeping in mind this the file has been reloaded to the above link.

Bhai Sahib jee, you the know the last pauree "ਅਨੰਦ"

Is there any cases in Gurbani pangtees where we should pronounce as "ਅਨਦ" or in the case of aira kanna "ਆਨਦ"?

Or is the tippee always added on both versions all the time?

We always must add the tipi.

The tippee should always be pronounced for the above words.

Having said that, the word ਅਨਦ in the last Pauri of Siri Anand Sahib, should be ਅਨੰਦੁ as per some old handwritten Saroops. It seems like tippee is missing in the Printed Saroops of Maharaj jee.





In the above images, it is noticeable that ਅਨੰਦੁ is missing the last aunkad in one of the images above but nevertheless tippee is there on both images.
