I was listening to the following Shabad, which was like a Prem Daa Teer, hence, inspired me to write this little piece.
ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਡੜੀ ਆਸ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥What words shall I use, none seem just right
I have tried countless times, daytime and at night
I just want to write and share, I just want to express
The pain that I am enduring, the burden on my chest
Assist me, don’t resist me, despite my countless sins
Correct me, please protect me, from kalyug’s poisonous fins
I am rolling in dirt, thinking it is gold, what is this all about?
The 5 thieves have tied my hands, only you can help me out
I still remember that day, even though time has flown away
When you blessed me the eternal nectar, showed me the right way
When I stepped into that room, I was asked to say
VahegurooJeeKaaKhalsaa VahegurooJeeKeeFatheh
There were 5 of them, long bearded and turbaned, grouped together
Just looking at them, I felt a surge of cold, in the hot June weather
They were stirring an iron bowl, with a double-edged iron sword
Each read a special prayer, and then I was taught how to say this WORD
It’s not a WORD, it’s so much more, only a few people find it true
I wish to be in that company, so I am requesting you
I have dedicated everything to you, my body, my soul and wealth
I try to practise Bani, Bana, Seva & Simran, is there anything else?
Many Say Hari Hari, Many Say Raam Raam
Vahegurooo is what I utter, I am told this is your true naam
Pardon my sins, uplift my weaknesses, I know the faults are all mine
I don’t want to come back here again father, please carry me across this time
