Most feminist I have met did not seem to think man and women are equal. If anything they believe women are more superior then man and they seem to hate men. WOmen do have a special duty in life but according to Gurmat man and women are equal.
You quoted
"It is an individualistic form of feminism, which focuses on women’s ability to show and maintain their equality through their own actions and choices"
Feminist who arrogantly support abortion do so because they like making their own choices regardless of the consequences abortion has to society ( the wider sangat)
The end quote states
"Issues important to liberal feminists include reproductive and abortion rights"
No way could I ever consider the Great Mata Bhago Kaur Jeee to be a feminist. She treated all her brothers with an equal eye she spoke to them with utmost humility. She had so much love for her SIkh brothers she would die for them. She regarded herself as the most humble slave of the Sangat. These are virtues which do not exist in the typical feminist. Mata Ji lead the fauj not as a means assert some form of feminism; instead she lead the fauj because of her devotion to Guru Ji, leadership and intuitive skills.
I dont want to change the direction of this thread so If you want to still discuss feminism and SIkhi feel free to start a new thread.
Going back to the original question
"if dastaar had been hukam of Guruji, then why is it not prevalent in Panth like other rehits"
The dastar/SIkh identity has been attacked from the beginning of Sikhi.
One of the way Islamic Fanatics try to destroy a people is through psychological warfare. For example in Arabia, Muslims forbid Jews the ride horses, or have any building that was bigger then a building owned by a Muslim. This was to show the Jews are inferior and subordinate to Muslims. Similarily during Jahangirs reign he implemented the same tactics. He forbid SIkhs to have any big buildings, horses, weapons and dastars. Dastar was considered a sign of Royalty . Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib totatly defied these orders and built Sri AKal Takht which was perhaps the biggest building in the area at the time. Guru Sahib also asked sangat to no longer donate money but instead donate weapons and horses. Guru Sahib also afforded the right for Gursikhs to wear dastar which really annoyed the Muslims. DUring Aurangzebs reign they would further try to prevent SInghs and Singhni from wearing dastar. But Guru Sahib said not only to wear a dastar but wear a big dastar . THis rehatnama still exists.
When the British Imperialist Invaded Punjab they thought these Sikhs have such a strong identity. How can we destroy this strong sense of identity. They knew they if you want to destroy a nation then attack its women. So they made efforts in watering down rehatnamas and eventually chunni became accepted. There are old photos that exist in British Libraries that show women wearing Dastar before. But eventually the British were able to remove this kakkar.Even today those Bhenjis who wear Chunni are considered as" British Raj Singhnis" . Meaning they are still living in the backward times of the British Raj and have not progressed into the times of Dasmesh Pita Ji. If not all most colonized people have lost their uniform/identity, but through sheer determination some Gursikhs have still kept their Sikh identity.
THis anti- Sikh lobby still exist today. Fanatical Hindu Orgranizations like the RSS have done many things to destroy SIkh identity. They want SIkhs to regard themselves as Hindus so they are trying to change the identity and religious beliefs of the Panth.
