Bhai Thakur Singh-- a Bihari Convert

There lives an amritdhari Singh in East Kailash, New Delhi. He does seva at the Gurdwara Sahib there. He was a bihari migrant but he got in touch with Baba Kishan Singh Jee who used to do seva at that Gurdwara. Influenced by Baba Jee's sangat, this bihari kept hair and chakked amrit. At present, he does langar de seva at the Gurdwara Sahib.
Few months back, he was called back by his family in Bihar to get married. When he went to his native village, his parents found some girls for him but told him that he would have to remove this turban to get married in the community. Hearing this, Bhai Thakur Singh told his parents that he does not care about marriage, he wont remove his turban at any cost.
He came back to Delhi and at present, stays at the Gurdwara Sahib and does lots of seva.

On the other hand, we have many punjabi youth who cut their hair to go abraod or to get married to some NRI girl.

And we also have enough "Sikhs" who don't want to give their daughters to Amritdharis of a non-Sikh background.

This statement is partially true. If a boy from Hindu family becomes amritdhari, BUT IS FROM CANADA/UK/USA,
he will lots and lots of rishtas from India.
Girls will get ready to chakk amrit, keep bibek, keep sarb-loh, sarb-steel, sarb-plastic, haha just to go abroad.

I am from a sikh family and from a very panthic family but still I am finding it tough to find a gurmukh ristha as I am not too much into maya lifestyle.

I am talking about a situation where a non-Sikh living+working in a western country who becomes an Amritdhari, he/she most likely won't get a "Sikh-by-birth" spouse from his/her country of residence, but like you said, will get enough rishtay from India. I am not sure if you've lived abroad, or which country abroad, but everything is not always black and white. Maya is the first priority, and that includes caste, ilaka (majha/malwa/doaba), physical looks (height/built), duniyaavi education, bank balance, home/apartment, etc. list goes on. Gursikhi jeevan and Gurmat Rehit is last on the list.

Harinder Singh Ji, I think, you are not getting a gurmukh rihta, because your Sanjog are "DHILE" i.e. loose. Have faith in Satguru Ji, as soon as your SANJOG SURFACE UP; you will have GURMUKH RISHTA. Pray to Satguru Ji.

Bhai MB Singh is right. When your Sanjog for marriage arrives, Rishta will come as well. This does not mean that no effort should be done but what this means is that your folks should continue your Uddam (effort) and be relaxed. Doing effort is our duty and the fruit is always in the hands of Guru Sahib.

There is a very interesting line written in Hindi behind many trucks in India, which makes quite bit of sense:

भाग्य से जियादा और समय से पहले कभी कुछ नहीं मिलता.
(More than your destiny and before the time set by destiny, you can't get anything).

Have faith in Guru Sahib, do Ardaas and Paath; Guru Sahib will do Kirpa.

Veer jee,
Sometime back, some gursikhs requested that a matrimonial section be added on this forum. Thats a great idea. It shud be only for those singhs/singhnees who wear a dastaar or are ready to wear one. That will be a great seva.
Instead of blaming things on 'bhaya', 'sanjog', let us do some seva to help fellow sikhs.

Please find below a poem that this Daas wrote after reading the poems of Veer Harinder Singh and Veer Mehtab Singh. This poem contains the formula for finding a good wife and this is the formula that I myself applied and fulfilled my wish. Read on:

ਇਹ ਫਾਰਮੂਲਾ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਿਜੀ, ਆਪ ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
