(not kulbir singh veerji, so forgive me for answering) i'm confused by your question. aren't the attributes clearly written in the pauree mentioned? each of the first six lines describes a quality (or two/three qualities that go together).

was there more to the question?

(ang 1357)

Through the Mantra of the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam, one meditates on the All-pervading Lord.

Those who have the wisdom to look alike upon pleasure and pain, live the immaculate lifestyle, free of vengeance.

They are kind to all beings; they have overpowered the five thieves.

They take the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise as their food; they remain untouched by Maya, like the lotus in the water.

They share the Teachings with friend and enemy alike; they love the devotional worship of God.

They do not listen to slander; renouncing self-conceit, they become the dust of all.

Whoever has these six qualities, O Nanak, is called a Holy friend. ||40||

1. simran
2. nirvair/nirmal
3. overpower panj vikkar
4. keertan/avoidance of maya
5. baghti/sharing of gursikhi
6. avoidance of slander and haumai

Thanks Bhain jee for bringing the Shabad to the attention of Sangat.

1) Meditate on the all-pervading Vaheguru through Guru's Mantra.

2) Possess Gurmat Gyaan (Knowledge) that enables them to consider worldly sorrow and happiness as same, whatever they do is free from sin, they are without enmity for anyone. The second characteristic is that they possess Gurmat Gyaan. The rest are the fruits of possessing Gurmat Gyaan.

3) Because they have brought the 5 evils under control, they are kind and merciful on all creatures.

4) Since they consume the spiritual food of Kirtan, they remain untouched by Maya in same way as the lotus flower stays untouched by muddy water it grows in.

5) Since they are engaged in Prema-Bhagti, they treat their enemies and friends in a similar way.

6) Since they consider themselves to be dust of everyone and thus have given up their self (pride), they don't listen to anyone's slander nor themselves slander anyone.

7) The above are the 6 main characteristics of perfect Gurmukh Sadhoos.

Please note that there are 6 characteristics. If we look at each Pankiti not-too-deeply, we find that each Pankiti contains more than 1 characteristic but if we look at the last Pankiti, we see that Siri Guru jee has stated only 6 characteristics. In the above humble translation, there are only 6 characteristics in total.

Bhul chuk dee maafi jee.

Daas,
Kulbir Singh
