Increased Attacks on Sikhs

In light of increased attacks on Sikhs all around, it is best for us to take constructive measures to defend ourselves and dispel ignorance about Sikh identity. It is quite disturbing to read about so many attacks and frustrating to see no action in doing parchaar. While it is nearly impossible for Sikhs to come together on same platform to preach Sikhi these days, I think at the very least each one of us needs to equip ourselves with legal toys (firearms) and small knives for physical defense. Every Sikh must keep at least 2.5” blade knife and look at local laws to obtain concealed carry permits to carry revolvers and small semi-autos. I would suggest every Sikh must have a shotgun at home with buck shots for home defense. Shotguns are very inexpensive and can be purchased at any local sports store. Both Winchester and Remington are good brands. For revolvers, I would suggest Smith and Wesson brand light weight toy. Use it with 0.38 hollow point ammo for personal defense. Majority of the States in USA are shall issue states meaning that one only has to apply to obtain a permit. California, New York and New Jersey are stricter in issuing permits but one can make the case by referencing attacks on Sikhs. Local gun stores are always willing to share their knowledge about making a right choice in your purchase. Some even offer cheap courses for training purposes. These measures are easier and quicker than learning martial arts. Please take this issue seriously as an attack on a Sikh means we are all potential targets. Bijla Singh jee has given a very good suggestion. But if fire arms are out of reach then at least Sikhs should carry anything that can be used as a potential weapon such as keeping a baseball bat in your car. Buying a Sher Panja is also a good weapon. Brass knuckles or knuckle dusters is also a good weapon especially if you are one against many. Pepper stray is also a good way to protect yourself. Attacks on Sikhs in the west are on the rise. It is better to stay armed than be sorry.
