If there is something you want to learn from other philosophies and meditations which will help you then it is all about the way you breathe. The longer you extend your breath in and out the more peaceful and calm your life will become.
Some rare indiviuals can breathe at the rate of one breath per minute! They stay alot more youthful, healthy and have more energy inside them. The longer you make your normal everyday breathing the more calm the mind will stay. The breathing should also be done deeply at the navel area, rather then the chest which we all tend to do nowadays due to stress and bad habits.
There is nothing else to learn from other meditations. It is all in the breathing. Any human being regardless of religion can benefit from this universal law of breathing deep and long. This will surely get rid of your negative thinking.
