poppy seeds

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh.

I was wondering if using poppy seeds in cooking Is in line with gurmat as they come from opium poppy?

can they intoxicate when cooked ?

As far as I know khas-khas is not prohibited from consuming. opium or whatever happens later on I don't know, but khas-khas is allowed for Gursikhs. It's an essential ingredient for making Shardhaaee which is very good for Naam Abhyaasis.
