Punjab to observe Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31

Chandigarh: Punjab government on Thursday said it will observe the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel tomorrow as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas'.

A government spokesperson said Rashtriya Ekta Diwas would be observed every year.

He said there would be a pledge-taking ceremony in all the government offices, public sector undertakings and other public institutions.

The pledge would be taken by all officials and other employees to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among fellow countrymen, he said.

The vision and actions of Sardar Patel and his dedication towards ensuring the internal security of the country would be remembered on this day, he added.

All administrative secretaries, directors, district administration and the heads of all the educational institutions under the Punjab government have been asked to ensure implementation of the directive of the government in both letter and spirit.

In this sense, there should be also national celebration on November 26 every year. They could call it "National Dead Civilians Celebration Day". This should be different from some sort of remembrance day. Each year, at least one Indian civilian should be sacrificed to pay tribute to the fallen Indian civilians on November 26, 2008. And in the end, there should be a large feast held to call it off, of course not forgetting to invite key Pakistani politicians =D

The zaalam India decided to make people publicly support the tyranny.
When Quebec wanted to separate from Canada, they were given a vote, not told to stand there and say, "I want to stay with Canada" when many clearly did not want to. I'm guessing many people will have to make such statements under fear of being harrassed if they don't. Since there are people that work in the educational system that do not believe the Hindu supremacist idea of unity of India, we know that they are only saying it. It will not change the fact that there are lots of people that hate the HIndu supremacist idea of unity.
And right before the Punjab Bandh thing, really. these politicians don't know how to avoid conflict. In India, where communal violence happens too much, these politicians are just actively trying to increase it.

This unity of India is that unity that says "Every Indian is Hindu" not the one that accepts different beliefs like the unity that is present in Canada today. and when Khalsa Raj comes, it will not be following India's unity model. Critics of Khalistan always act like it will, but they just really don't know. It's not like we are going to be having a religious police that kills people for cutting hair. Those are just rumours by people that have no real thing to say against Khalsa Raj, so they make things up and most Indians just jump on the bandwagon.

the sacrifice reminds me of the short story that is taught in grade 10 high school here in Canada:
THE LOTTERY

There are people that read that story and they're like "Why did the author have to write this?!!!!"
Because its so depressing. the story starts all happy with what looks like the villagers are nervous, this turns into fear and then suddenly it's not happy anymore. Some teachers just tell their students to read it and don't read it out for the whole class. I think that the author did a very good job of manipulating emotions.

Reminds me of Bhai Rama Singh's book where there used to be a pakhandi that put a saw in a well and convinced people to jump in it for mukti.
