Good to hear from a Pakistani that Maharaja Ranjit Singh's rule treated everyone fairly because I have heard many ignorant Pakistanis talking about unfair treatment of Muslims during this time.

True. One must understand the ideology behind Pakistan which is based on two nation theory. The result is, they interpret history according to this theory where by a non-Muslim ruler no matter how secular or benign he may be is seen as an illegitimate ruler who must be condemned or overthrown while a Muslim ruler no matter how oppressive he may be is still regarded as a hero. That's why foreign Muslim invaders like Bin Qasim, Gauri, Ghaznavi, Babur, Abdali who had raped and looted the Hindu ancestors of modern Pakistani Muslims are regarded as heroes and even have missiles named in their honour while indigenous sons of the soil like Banda Singh Bahadur, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Hari Singh Nalwa are regarded as oppressors. Not all Pakistanis think this way. Their are many good secular Pakistanis who have read history from unbiased sources and have learnt to think outside the box.
