Hi Saath Sangat Ji i want to learn this bani by Dasam Patshah Ji but i am confused by the opening of the bani done by Gyani Thakur Singh and the other Singh's can somebody help to which one i should do thanks.

Atthh Shree Shastar Naam Maalaa Puraan Likhyaatae

Shree Bhagauti Jee Sahaaae, Paatshahi Dasvee

Doharaa.

(Damdami Taksal Sundar Gutka, Budha Dal Sundar Gutka and a number of others)

If you want more clarification jee, there are a number of PDF copies of Puraatan Dasam Granth Saroops in the literature section of Gurmatveechar.org. They also have a number of Singhs who do Shastar naam Mala Paath on audio.

Correction, Damdami taksal sundar gutka only has Jaap sahib, swayie, Chaupai sahib and chandi di vaar, not shastar naam Mala

I agree with Sinner that most of the pothi sahibs record it as

Unfortunately , many pothi sahibs have excluded this bani all together or have dramatically reduce it. Shastarnama mala is a kosh ( dictionary) on the Panj Shastars of Khalsa Bana. Its very long bani. The one in Pothi Sahibs is only a part of the bani in praise of the first shastar Khanda. The next verse is in praise of Chakra and this is not mentioned in the Pothi Sahibs. Some people say the version in Sri Dasam Granth has even been reduced and is shorter then the version in the puratan bir of Patna Sahib.

So, where to get whole baani ? Punj shashtar ! ??

As previously mentioned you cannot get full Shastar Nama Mala bani from any pothi sahib . Only Sri Dasam Granth has the full bani and according to Professor Pyara Singh Ji this version may also be a shorter version from the full version.
