Keertan of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee

The following was told me by a Gursikh very recently and is shared here for the benefit of the sangat.

There was a Gursikh who lived in Ludhiana and was not from Jatha but had the fortune of listening to a lot of Keertan from Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee at smagams. Singhs asked this Gursikh to tell about how Bhai Sahib used to do keertan and the Gursikh shared the following two things.

- Even if someone was taking their jorhe off, if the sound of Bhai Sahib's voice while doing keertan would hit their ears, they would sit down right where they were and be in vismaadh of Bhai Sahib's keertan. It was a regular thing too see that people would become motionless at the first instance of hearing Bhai Sahib's keertan and would sit where ever they were regardless of where that is.

- Sometimes Bhai Sahib would spend all night just singing one shabad and sometimes would repeat the same pankti for an hour and a half straight but no one would get tired or bored of hearing it again. This was the ras of Bhai Sahib's keertan that no matter how they would do it, everyone would be in vismaadh.

May Guru Sahib do kirpa and let us enjoy the same ras as well.

Kavi Santokh SIngh mentions that when Pehli Paatshah went to Bhagdad he sung Sri JapJi Sahib during Amrit Vela. The kirtan was extremely beautiful the whole city went into smadhi!

Sorry it was not the whole city who went into Smadhi by listening to Sri Guru Jis kirtan, but the whole world went into a mystical state.
