The way he was killed secretly, there are already talks of executing Bhai Rajoana and other Sikh prisoners like this. The GOI did this to first test people's reaction. If it is a positive reaction from the Indian public, I think they will repeat this with other prisoners, especially Sikh prisoners.

Another theory is that Kasab died of a Bimaari(Dengue) recently, but to take credit for his death they hung his dead body to get plus points since the congress is currently at a all time low in public opinion. Even when the Americans killed Osama they disposed of his body in 10 hours, yet the Indian government buried the body of Kasab in just 3 hours so no autopsy can be performed that shows he died in reality from Dengue.

Kasab's execution was a staged move. Public is busy mourning Thackeray, so hang Kasab and get nationwide appreciation as well as political support, then hang Afzal Guru and add onto the nationwide appreciation as well as political support. Once there is enough of it, who is next? Bhai Bhullar and Bhai Rajoana obviously. Purpose is to hype up the Indian crowd so much against whoever they see as a threat that tomorrow no one will stand beside the Sikhs when they rally against the death sentence of Bhai Bhullar and Bhai Rajoana. They have seen the might of the Sikhs in March this year when they had to come on their knees and put a hold on Bhai Rajoana's phansi. They will make sure to garner maximum support before hanging him so that Sikhs make a fool of themselves in India and worldwide when they protest his execution. This is a very well though out procedure.

Here are the viewpoints I've come across
    1. The media is being honest, he was hanged.
    2. He died of dengue fever so God bless Indian mosquitoes.
    3. He was killed by them in custody a while back and only now they are disclosing news of him being dead due to hanging.
    4. Some 2 years ago intelligence got wind that a hijacking was being planned to free him, so chances are this time they got a similar tip off as well, and faked his hanging just to foil any such plans by his brothers to rescue him, and have moved him elsewhere and he is still in custody.
    5. He hasn't been hanged, instead they returned him to Pakistan, and Pakistan won't make a sound about it otherwise the whole world will know 26/11 was done by the Pakis. He will continue to be part of Lashkar in Pakistan but undercover.
Any more?

Veer Mehtaab Singh Jeeo

Daas finds it wonderful that you cover so many stories on this forum.

Please don't mistake my comment as derogatory, but what is the need to theorize his death or life. I find it is unnecessary and not related to gurmat at all.

Or sikhee as general.

Kasab's hanging may not be directly related to Sikhi or Sikhs in general but indirectly it is related because there are some political Sikh prisoners on death-row in India and it is a matter of concern for Sikhs that these Sikh prisoners are not hanged secretly as Kasab has been. Perhaps, Bhai Mehtab Singh was trying to highlight this point for cyber Sikh Sangat.

In a way you are right Upkaar Singh veerji, he was a paapee who met his fate and we are not to be bothered by such folks. But as Bhai Kulbir Singh jee rightly said, there is more to it. Bhai Bhullar and Bhai Rajoana are on their list as well. I am not sure how many of us are aware, but few days ago 12 Singhs were sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment. They are all very aged, one is 93 years old. Please see below for more...

TADA designated court of Sunil Kumar Arora, Additional Sessions Judge (Ludhaina) has sentenced 12 Sikhs to undergo ten years imprisonment in a bank robbery case under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act. It took more than 25 years for the trial to conclude in this case. The incident dates back to 1987. On February 12, 1987 a Ludhiana branch of Punjab National Bank was robbed.

Harjinder Singh Kali (47) R/O VPO Latlon, Distt. Ludhiana;
Daljit Singh Bittu (52) R/O Gurdev Nagar, Ludhiana;
Gursharan Singh Gamma (57) R/O VPO Rattan, Distt. Ludhiana;
Balwinder Singh (60) R/O VPO Tahli, Jalandhar;
Mohan Singh Mohani (71) R/O VPO Katran Kalan, Distt. Jalandhar;
Saroop Singh (63) R/O VPO Bisrampur, Jalandhar;
Gurjant Singh (70) R/O VPO Kothe Jang Road, Ludhiana;
Avtar Singh (75) R/O VPO Kurali, Jalandhar;
Harbhajan Singh (83) R/O VPO Sarih, Jalandhar;
Sewa Singh (72) VPO Chak Raju Singh, Hoshiarpur;
Assa Singh (93) R/O VPO Wadala Mahi, Hoshiarpur;
Maan Singh (68) Bhagwan Nagar, Ludhiana are all sentenced to 10 years under under the provisions of TADA.

TADA act was repealed a while back but looks like it has taken re-birth when it came to punishing Sikhs. Bapu Assa Singh can't even walk, yet he was taken into custody.

Lets also not forget, just a day before Kasab was hanged, India voted against death penalty at UN - [www.ndtv.com]

Now they are getting condemned for it : [www.sikhsiyasat.net]

So veer, das only purpose is to highlight this concern smiling smiley . I thought twice before posting about Kasab, thnking "sannu kee, dusht siga, maarta", but at same time there are those who are not dusht and still on death row.

This is sickening, radical Hindu forces are like a Boa Constrictor, they are out to destroy the morale of Sikhs further. '78, '84 are not enough for these dushts, they have not been satisfied. Maharaj kirpa karan to bring us Khalsa Raj sooner rather than later.

Hanji Veerjee, I stand corrected, the masla becomes vital when Sikh prisoners are involved. The treatment of our brothers and bazurgs in jail is well known in and it is sad to see the government always looking for the first chance to throw some more Sikhs into jails.

Disgusting!

Guroo Saheb Kirpaa Karan

SIKH HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS CONDEMN INDIA'S STANCE ON DEATH PENALTY

LONDON, UK - Khalsa Human Rights, the human rights wing of the Sikh Federation (UK), has joined Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other human rights organisations in strongly condemning India in defying the United National General Assembly Resolution passed on Tuesday 20 November.

On Tuesday 110 nations voted in favour of a resolution that expressed its ‘deep concern about the continued application of the death penalty’ and called on states to ‘establish a moratorium on executions, with a view to abolishing the practice’. Although not legally binding the UN General Assembly resolutions carry considerable moral and political weight.

The Assembly’s Third Committee which passed the resolution this week deals with social and humanitarian issues, as well as human rights. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has welcomed the record vote in the Third Committee and called on UN member states to support next month’s General Assembly Plenary for a final decision on the resolution.

However, yesterday it was widely reported in Indian newspapers that within 24 hours of the UN resolution by the Third Committee India had carried out its first execution for over eight years. Ajmal Kesab a death row convict was hanged in Pune’s Yerwada jail. India executed Auto Shanker in April 1995 and Dhananjoy Chatterjee in August 2004.

A Khalsa Human Rights spokesman said:

‘A day after India opposed the resolution at the United Nations on a moratorium against the death penalty it has had the audacity to carry out its first execution in over eight years.’

‘In the last 17 years there had been only two executions in India and many nations around the world and leading human rights groups had pointed to there being a de-facto or unofficial moratorium in India for the last eight years and took considerable comfort from this. The execution yesterday means India has reached new lows in terms of its human rights standing on the world stage.’

‘By this act of a premeditated and cold-blooded killing of a human being by the Indian state it has violated the right to life as proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.’

Bhai Amrik Singh, the Chair of the Sikh Federation (UK) said:

‘It had recently been suggested by senior politicians in the UK and other parts of Europe that the new Indian President, Pranab Kumar Mukherjee, who took up his position in July 2012 had been approached and they were confident that these diplomatic advances may eventually lead to the abolition of the death penalty in India.’

‘These politicians and the 110 nations that passed the UN General Assembly Resolution this week, especially EU Member States who collectively oppose the death penalty, now need to be put India under pressure in response to their open defiance of civilised nations that abhor the death penalty and oppose it in all cases without exception regardless of the nature of the crime or the characteristics of the offender.’

A Khalsa Human Rights spokesman said:

‘There are reported to be between 300-400 prisoners on death row in India. Following yesterday’s execution some in India have suggested only politically convenient convicts will be executed.’

‘In India politicians will decide who to hang – and that too when it is beneficial to them politically.’

The execution yesterday came a day before the winter session of the Indian Parliament and weeks ahead of Gujarat assembly elections in December where the Congress will be taking on the BJP, the centre’s key opposition.

The likes of Narinder Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, implicated for the mass murder of the Muslim minority population in Gujarat in 2002 and the Indian media are now openly calling for the execution of Afzal Guru, which must be a distinct possibility.

Some in the Indian media have also mentioned Balwant Singh Rajaona and the three assassins of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. However, others have suggested that as long as there is pressure on India from within and from abroad as regards the likes of Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar and Balwant Singh Rajaona India will avoid carrying out these executions.

Human rights activists fear the political trend In India has always been that Indian politicians will do almost anything to secure votes. Some are worryingly suggesting as long as the death penalty has been handed down by the apex court and the President has rejected the mercy petition, a convict should be executed without delay, as the law states that a delay in the judicial procedure is a valid ground for commuting the sentence.

Khalsa Human Rights and the Sikh Federation (UK) are arranging a European-wide delegation of Sikhs to meet officials at the European Commission and Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in Brussels to get them to urgently take up the matter with India at the highest levels.

This is being immediately followed up by a European-wide delegation of Sikhs taking the issue of the death penalty and other human rights violations in India to the United Nations in Geneva, where the UN Human Rights Commission is based.

Finally Khalsa Human Rights and the Sikh Federation (UK) working alongside Sikh organisations in the US and Canada are hoping to take the same issues up in New York where the UN General Assembly will have its plenary session next month.
