I see people in orange, and khuley kesh and daaray in back, but I see no dastaar.
No offence, they remind me of hindu sages and yogis. what are they doing in darbar sahib, nonetheless right behind kirtani jatha ?
Dumalla wearing singhs aren't allowed there, but such people are ?
I would really appreciate an explanation, if there is any.......??confused smiley

"what are they doing in darbar sahib, nonetheless right behind kirtani jatha?

No offence to you, 'the martyred ghost', but I was horrified and extremely hurt to see these above two statments. Have we forgotten the most basic reason as to why there are four doors into harmandar sahib? Since when was darbar sahib an exclusive place for Gursikhs? Since when was there any prioroity or discrimination over seating in Guru Sahib's darbar?

Instead of rejoicing at the fact that people not even of our faith wish to sit in Guru Sahib's charan and hear his pavitar bani, we question why they are allowed to be there! Other dharams go out on the street begging for people to join their faith, and yet we wish to push away those who come of their own free will! Those sadhus have not been given any seva to do which is exclusive to Gursikhs, they are not doing any beadbi, they are simply exercising their GURU GIVEN RIGHT to sit in the sangat.

May Guru Sahib do kirpa and we see even more shardaloos of other faiths and bhekh attach themselves to Guru Sahib's charan (the first step being actualy sitting in his sangat!)

I don't know where you got the idea dumallae vale singhs aren't allowed to sit there, I see dumallae vale singhs sitting in the area behind the raagi singhs all the time while watching on tv. Like I said before, the unique beauty of Guru Sahib's darbar is that everyone sits as an equal, there is no set place reserved or excluded from anyone. I can't believe how we are forgetting such basic principles.

Baba Uttam Singh,

before getting all defensive, answer this, what cardinal sin have the bibiaan commited to not be allowed to do keertan sevaa there let alone sit there ?
Where does the 4 door concept go then ?
And you are upset with me, with asking, what are people like THAT doing there ?
If you can answer that question to me, without giving me any Nonsense about old maryada or tradition, I will gladly take my words back winking smiley

Baba jee, let us start respecting out own mothers and sisters first, before we start showing respect to outsiders, Bibian always have and always will contribute to the panth.

Daas,
Not a bibi smoking smiley

Bibia should be allowed to do keertan seva as well.

Sikhi does not have a concept of 'outsiders'

Please look up the sakhi of bhai khanaya in this respect of who we help first. There is not much sense in saying that bibia are discriminated against, so lets start discriminating against someone else.

Martyred ghost your logic is extremely flawed, how can you think that they aren't allowed to be in darbar sahib just because of the way they dress and look? i see no problem with them being there providing they don't do sevaa or keertan. Then to go further on and assume it's ok to discriminate against these people just because bibiya aren't allowed to do keertan in darbar sahib... so basically according to your logic it's ok to discriminate even more...because there is already discrimination happening in a place?

Actually, what the ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭੂਤ is saying is in accordance to Gurmat.
There is a protocol that applies when entering the Darbaar of Sachey Paatshaah jee.

Ok, all negativity aside.

I stand by my original post. The question isn't about further discrimination to these fellows, because it already exists amongst bibia. Rather, it is about "special treatment" these people are getting by being allowed in the inner circle (keertan area) without dastaars on. I mean think about it, knowing out committees and jathedaars, these people were probably some high profile saadhus and "sants" and so they were allowed inside the keertan area.

If anybody else thinks differently and sees nothing wrong with the issue, then be my guest. We all have our opinions, like I have mine, nor am I here to gain popularity or support. My initial point was simple stating my disagreement with the privileges these people are awarded, when our own tyaar bar tyaar sisters cannot sit in the same area as them. Point to be highlighted.

Those who think, that I'm supporting further discrimination by saying they shouldn't be there, no brothers, you all are causing further discrimination by supporting the "rights" of the fellows in the video. A collective effort is needed to sort out this pure stupidity of the discrimination against sisters, and only then can we come to a decision about people of other faith. Heck there is a whole area inside Harimandar Sahib to sit, why behind keertanees?

Clearly, it is an area that one needs to be escorted to, for those of you who clearly missed the Pehredaar that is present there 24/7 right outside the gate of the railing that encloses the keertanees area.

My logic may seem flawed to some, and the same can be said about your logics, for no one mind is the same.

Peace.

I suppose this issue is arguable, all people should be treated equally in Sikhism, bibiyaan and other people alike, no one should be given more attention/respect/favour or anything. At the end of the day, we're all in the same boat, we all come from the same thing and WE ARE ALL THE SAME. The concept of bibyaan not being allowed to sit in sangat is questionable, but it still doesn't mean that we have to put THEM first, and someone could say the same for the others. Everything and everyone should be treated equally, or at least, that's what a Sikh or even someone else should at least try to do, as unity is key to a community and love.
