What a great question by msingh jeeo , here are a few pointers:

1. We know our worst habits which are not according to Sikhe jeevan - first sign is when one starts to break them due to the power of the discpline of sticking with Gurbani- naam kanmaye. The habits will weane off but slowly, but your procasination, rationaling will weaken and hence become more proactive on them with pure warrior mindedness be ready for battle daily.

2. the five vices - their daily attack will wind down - remember they are extremely powerful and at times they will show their power big time to tame you back into their routine. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh talks about their power to trap becomes even bigger as one increases kamaee as one becomes more receptive to senses at a deeper level. As you progress you will be able to look at them in your mind and observe their power their influence then switch on your kamee as normal instantly and inturn switch of their thought process in the mind.

3. The chaa and utshaah to read more Gurbani - naam abyhiaaa wil increase that one loses all conscious of time- your chao will be so great you can;t wait for that instance to meditate take laha , attend smagams , increase seva of Gursikhs, gurdwara seva.

The above are just minisicule surely other Gursiksh will highlight more.

This is a very good question and this is something we must ponder upon regularly. Some indications of Chardi Kala are as follows:

1. One starts feeling repugnance for the worldly pleasures. Bikaars become weaker and weaker.
2. One starts to do more Paath and Simran.
3. One feels proud to be a Sikh. One is proud to wear Gurmukhi Baana.
4. One loves Guru Sahib and anything associated with Guru Sahib - Gursikhs, Nishan Sahib, Gurdwara Sahib etc.

When the opposite of the above starts happening then one can assume that one is going towards Dhehindi Kala.

Veer Ji, no need to apologize . Just try to be more vigilant when greeting other Gursikhs on this forum.

If we are adopting Gurmat qualities in our daily life then surely this is a sign we are progressing. If we are adopting manmat qualities then this is a sign we are digressing.
