A cow with her calf...

ਜੈਸੇ ਗਾਇ ਕਾ ਬਾਛਾ ਛੂਟਲਾ ॥ ਥਨ ਚੋਖਤਾ ਮਾਖਨੁ ਘੂਟਲਾ ॥2॥

This above Pankiti of Gurbani is what came to the mind when I saw this beautiful picture of a cow with her calf:

Notice how happy both of them are since they are together. Same way we can only be happy when we are with Vaheguru. Otherwise we can never be happy. We try to find happiness in worldly things and entertainments but all in vain. The calf in the above picture at this moment only needs milk from his mother. Can anything else in this world replace this comfort for the calf? If you were to take this calf to movie theaters or serve it 36 kinds of delicious foods, it will still not be happy. It wants to be with it's mother and drink milk. Same way the Jeev, in reality and internally, wants to be his Father-Mother Vaheguru and only then the Jeev can be really happy.

Another thought that comes to the mind is that the cow has nothing to gain from calf but is so happy to let the calf have her milk. Same way, Vaheguru does not need anything from us but loves us so much that we can't even imagine. Vaheguru jee's love cannot be measured.

Notice that the word ਖੀਰੁ has an aunkad in the end which makes it a masculine singular noun and in this shape this word means milk and not rice pudding called kheer. The rice pudding kheer is spelled as ਖੀਰਿ:

ਲੰਗਰਿ ਦਉਲਤਿ ਵੰਡੀਐ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਖੀਰਿ ਘਿਆਲੀ ॥

Gurbani is Agam Agaad Bodh.

Thats so true. The jeev can only get happiness upon meeting the Vahiguru. The problem for the Jeev is that MAYA created by the Vahiguru is so great that Jeev starts to see (As his mother) in so many other things around. The beauty of the relation between cow and calf above is that even if the calf is 4 hours old or few months old, he will not go under any other Cow means he will find out her mother and straight away run to him. I know this being from a farmer family background,Even if the calf has 10 cows in between he will only go under his own mother. Man on the other side is unlucky, as he starts finding his mother in everything good it sees and overtime starts forgetting his real mother.

Guru Sahib Kirpa Karn we find reach out our own mother (Vahiguru) and till then stay without Milk (Dont get distracted by Maya)

Vaheguru jee ka Khalsa Vaheguru jee kee fateh!
