Request to sangat to share your views on Dastar Bandhi ceremony being performed esp. in India where turban is being tied to young boy for the first time in presence of sangat and relatives.
Is it necessary or not, if yes, then what is gurmat way to do this ceremony ?
Within Amritdhari families, Dastaar is worn on the child at a very early stage. The Dastar-bandi ceremony is probably for such kids who wear patka during their early childhood days and then move on to wear a Dastar. I don't think it's a very old tradition because Patka started pretty recently.
