'Gurus Babiha' jeeo,

According to Gurbani, when one has great Khushi of Guru Sahib, then one does Sangat of accomplished Gurmukh Pyare. At the stage where we are, we can't judge or measure the greatness of great Gurmukhs. How would we recognize them?

Once I was talking to a shardhaaloo of a very famous Sant and we started discussing Brahmgianis. Since we are very good friends, we are quite frank with each other. I asked him directly as to how did he know that his Sant was a Brahmgiani. He replied by narrating some stories that contained illustrations of super-natural (Ridhi Sidhi) powers of this Sant jee. At this I informed him that such Ridhi Sidhi related stories are found in the life of Jesus, prophets and many Sant-Sadhoos of Hindu and Muslim faith too. At this we both came to the conclusion that this alone can't be a sure-sign of a Brahmgiani.

We both agreed that Pooran Avastha belongs to the house of Siri Guru Nanak Sahib only. Making this assertion as base of my argument, I derived that a person with Pooran Avastha has to be a Sikh of Siri Guru Nanak Dev jee. He agreed. My next statement was that since a Brahmgiani must be a Sikh of Siri Guru Nanak Dev jee's House, then he must be obeying all Hukams of Siri Guru Nanak Dasmesh jee. So far we agreed. I finally said that all things apart, one sure sign of a Brahmgyani is that he keeps full Rehit of Siri Guru Nanak Dasmesh jee since Rehit is a unpardonable Hukam of Guru Sahib. So one who does not keep Rehit of Siri Guru Dasmesh jee i.e. one who does not keep Baana, Punj Kakaar, Bibek Sarbloh Rehit etc., cannot be of Pooran Avastha of Brahmgiani.

You have to either to agree with the aforementioned statement or else take a stand that Baana, Punj Kakaars, abstaining from Bajjar Kurehits, Daswandh, Bibek Sarbloh etc. are not Rehits of Guru Sahibs.

In any case, the best thing is to do Sangat of Tyaar bar Tyaar Gursikhs, attend Kirtan and Paath Samagams, read books of known Brahmgianis like Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee and do Ardaas for Kirpa. When the time comes, Apne-aap, Gursikhs of high avastha too will meet. There are many very good Gursikhs in the Jatha. Attend Samagams, meet Gursikhs here because the highest chance of meeting Gursikhs of high avastha is here (AKJ Samagams worldwide) only.

The above thoughts are my personal thoughts. No Behis-Mubahisa jee.

Daas,
Kulbir Singh

When I was a kid, use to go to the local Granthis house to play with their son. An elderly Gursikh from India use to come there, he was very loving in nature. He was very carefree.
Back then, I wasn't much into sikhi seriously. But use to hear about saas giraas simran. So, very casually I just asked him how do we do simran with our breaths?(even basic meditation unknown to me to start with.)
He didn't tell, but said I'will show. (I never understood it anyway)
He pulled his breath and uttered gurmat naam once and lost his conscienness for at least 30 minutes. He was chubby but his spine was straight like a true yogee . One unforgetable thing about the incident was the glow on his face, though he had dark brown skin.

I and my mate for the first 4 minutes looked at each others face and assumed the old man has gone to sleep. We continued playing. He came of of his samadhi later on.

Dont know of what avastha he was, but this one memory has really remained in my memory till this day. Have never meet him again. Its very unfortunate that when today the understanding & value of such sangat there in me....such sangat cant be found......

A bramgiani would never call himself a bramgiani, their full of pure humilty, instead a bramgiani would call themselves the charandhoor of any gursikh they see.

As per writings of Bhai Sahib jee and what senior Gursikhs tell, every Brahmgiani is a Jyot Vigaasi but every Jyot Vigaasi is not a Brahmgiani.

I can't find exact quote in Bhai Sahib's book but if you read Charan Kamal kee Mauj and Anhad Shabad Dasam Duaar, you can find it. Basically, Jyot Vigaas means appearance of divine Nirgun Charan Kamal of Guru-Vaheguru in the Hirda area and straightening of Naabh Kamal. Brahmgyaan comes after opening of Dasam Duaar. This is based on Bhai Sahib's books.

Gurus babiha jeeo, i think one post per question usually does the trick.

From the meagre understanding of daas, naab kamal is located in your bellybutton area.
Due to maya it is flipped around pointing downwards and provides energy vibes to kaam and other vikaars.

With naam abhyaas using the saas girass technique, done with full zor, guroo sahib does kirpaa and the naab kamal flips around slowly shooting energy upwards towards the dasan duaar. At this point one gains an avasthaa.

Yogis and other think this is the end of the story.

But no, naam khanda has to be kept going.
Then the dasam duaar shall reveal itself.

Bhul chuk muaaf karnee jeeo.

Thank you veer jee. That explains why we have to do Naam Abhiyaas in full spirit!
