Daas Wonders what should a Gursikh ask for from Guru Sahib, if Guru ji gives him option/choice of asking for one particular thing. We know majorily Bani asks and urges for NAAM and Guru Sharn.

Can all the Forum Readers pls think of and put in what would be their choice/Ask if Guru Sahib ask you for one think ?

This is an extremely beautiful verse by GUru Ji thanks for sharing. In this pauri Guru Sahib asks for many things. First and
foremost GUru Sahib ask for Naam (ਦੇਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ). Here is a list of some of the things Guru Sahib ask so naam can be churned in the mann.
1) ਪੰਚ ਤਸਕਰ ਧਾਵਤ ਰਾਖੇ
Protection from Panj Doots

2) ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
Removal of Ego from mind

3) ਦਿਸਟਿ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਗੀ ਐਸਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੨॥
BIbek ( Brahmgian) which keeps our eyes mind out of bad sight and bad teachings ( own thinking).

In the end of this Pauri, Guru Sahib ask for the following GUrmat Qualities:

ਜਤੁ ( discipline)
ਸਤੁ ( truth)
ਦਇਆ ( compassion)
ਕਰਮੁ ( grace, good works)
ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ( contentment)
ਖਿਮਾ ( forgiveness)
ਧੀਰਜੁ ਸਰਮ ( modesty, humility)

Waheguruu...

As we see Guru Sahib has asked for many things. Why? Because there is only one giver and he never stops
giving . He is extremely generous. If we are to ask for anything who else can we ask but the creator, preserver,
and destroyer of all things.
