Should there be such group called sant smaaj. A true sant is one who jaaps more than athe pehar naam, but would a sant truly want to show this avasta by joining sant smaaj. Also by joining sant smaaj, one must think one is a sant, but wouldn't a true sant think he is lowest of the low and not worthy.
Sangat please give your views, as Khalsa raaj is approaching in the future, such veechars are needed for chardi kala of the panth.
Like most groups Sant Samjh had a humble upbringing . It was started by many Gurmukhs like Sant ISher SIngh Ji ( Rara Sahib) Giani Gurbachan SIngh ji ( Bindra) Sant Attar SIngh Ji ( Mastuna) etc who did massive amounts of parchar to combat the arya samajhist who were bent on destroying SIkhi. However; just like other SIkh groups the organization eventually got into the hand of some manmukh politicians and now it really doesnt do much for Gurmat.
In regards to the name Sant Samajh I see no harm in this name it would be like having an organization called Khalsa Samajh or GUrmukh Samajh . THe word Sant, Khalsa, and Gurmukh all mean the same thing.
In regards to calling a Gurmukh sant there is no harm in this as well. Guru Sahib refers to Bhagat Prahlaad as Sant, and in rehatnamey BHai Nand Lal says not to cause any harm to a "Sikh Sant". Also, In his book Ranglee Sajan , BHai Randhir SIngh Ji refer to some Gurmukhs as Sant.
